Root Droid X/2 Overclock App - Easy & Noob friendly ;)

This isn't for every phone, each cpu is different. If you get a good one you can overclock and if you didn't you can't go very high.

Don't set it for boot until you've run it at high cpu for several hours with no issues. Running a stress test like in SetCpu for at least 20 minutes is a good test. Running benchmarks like Quadrant several times in a row or playing a game for an hour is also good.

I cant get the app to open. I just rooted using Z4root and the overclock app wont open. FC everytime.

Any ideas? I tried rebooting and took away SU access from SetCPU in case that was causing the error but no luck.

I have a stock DX with stock ROM just rooted only using Z4 root.

UPDATE

OK I got it working after the market update, random but awesome! Running very smooth so far the last 3 hours with ULV kernel @ 1.3ghz with stock ROM! :-D

I've been running ULV w/ stock speed for 2 weeks without one reboot.. I just updated to the latest version in the market that was release today and I'm getting reboots like crazy. I even tried going back to default settings at boot and my phone is still rebooting like crazy.. Anyone else having an issue with the latest?

The only issue I've been having is that the min: clock speed always shows 300MHz and my low setting is actually 350MHz.

I'm smooth at the medium voltage 1.35. Anything over that and I freeze eventually. I'm happy with it. :)

Are you running the latest from the market? I was smooth as silk with ULV till I downloaded the update today. I downloaded the app, set ULV at boot, maually rebooted and then after that nothing but reboots with ULV and even default voltage. I can't think of anything else that changed.

Im loving my DX now more then I thought I could. Running ULV @ 1.3ghz on stock ROM makes me faster then the D2 Global. hahahahaha muahahahaha

Did you notice an increase in battery life with the ULV @ stock 1ghz?

No, not really. Nothing significant. I was gonna start manually lowering the voltage one by one to see how low it can go.

Im back to my stock backup now and everything is stable again.. Im gonna reinstall the oc app from scratch and try again .

My phone sucks. I can only hit 1.15 on ULV, LV,MV or HV. I can't even do 1.2 at HV! Stable at 15% ULV though. No legitimate complaints that I cannot over clock. 15% is noticeable though, thanks.
Any other things I can try?

No clue what the recent update did. I used to be stable at 1.3 on low - Thats setting it at boot. Now if I try to reboot with anything higher than 1.1 on low im forced into a boot loop.

How do i fix a boot loop?!
I installed the update this AM - it locked up and now every time I boot i get 10-15 seconds, and then it resets! ARGGH!!
I tried to uninstall it, but i cant get that far. I was able to get to SU manager, and deny it SU rights but it still reboots.
power + home = android with exclaimation..
where do i go from here?!?!

NOPE
ARRRRRGH
Still rebooting!!!!!!
Wow I am WAY to good at booting/and uninstalling apps
uninstalled and now its stable. I think this AM's update broked something

Everything was working fine until the last update to 1.8.0 and now I am stuck in a boot loop and it won't go past the "M" logo and does that a couple of times and then back to recovery. I mde a nandroid backup way back when I first started using the app but since it had been working I don't have a recent backup. Is there a way to fix this issue so I can boot normally and change the settings on the oc app so it will work?

I have the sbf file downloaded but if I do that do I lose all of my settings/apps?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Same thing here, It got me while playing Angry Birds. Phone was stable at 1.2ulv before this update, now it's not.

clear data in clockwork

What will I lose if I clear data? Tried clearing/formatting cache...no worky.:(

Well...back up an running and kept all my sheet.

Stuck at logo on reboot and goes into clockwork after a couple tries...
Created new Nandroid
Formatted data
Restored Data from an old Nandroid
Rebooted
Changed freq's to stock in both scaling and boot then Deleted DroidX overclock app
Rebooted into clockwork
Restored Data from the current Nandroid
and I'm back to where I was and Jrummy's overclock app was restored at stock freq's.

Overclock is staying off till this issue is confirmed fixed.
Phew!
