Root DX Gingerbread 2.3.3 Update.zip released! TBH

Downloaded from TBH app, said it was successful, then booted into recovery and file was incomplete so restored stock backup, downloaded from my pc, opened and tested the zip file, then booted into recovery for attempt #2.

I'm running it now and I like it a lot. Got a quadrant score of 1620 which is great with a stock rom and no OC. It seems really smooth and snappy.

Just want to give a word of caution for some out there. You might want to be careful using an app back-up program switching from froyo to gingerbread. went through this on the D1 when the GB roms first started rolling out. Granted the problems were with using TiBu to restore all the apps from a Froyo Rom onto a GB rom so there might not be any issues here. Just trying to head off some issues we had with the D1. good luck all!!!! I'm installing it right now. :)

Holy crap is this smooth and fast. I am honestly shocked at how good Motorola did with Gingerbread.

Downloaded in under 3 minutes on my computer with an ethernet connection where it was going to take an hour and 40 minutes minimum on my wifi connected computer. One question though. Since it cant be rooted, that means no booting into recovery correct? So in order to change ROMs you would have to hard reset the phone?

You will have to flash an SBF to the phone from a PC to restore stock then root and install clockwork recovery.

Why does one of the steps tell me to create a backup if the new firmware won't support it?

Once you flash the SBF to your phone, root and install clockwork recovery you will then be able to restore any backups you made prior to installing this update.

1555 benchmark. Not too shabby.

Rebooted and let it settle some. Quadrant now is at 1787. That's better than when I was rooted on Liberty 1.5 and o/c to 1300. Damn

I am even liking the colors that Moto chose for their version of Gingerbread. So far I have not found any bugs. This seems like a realy solid build.

My first Quadrant run is 1838.

Ah, lame. Just installed and see that it doesn't have the black/green. :(

Oh well. I hope we get a theme made asap when root comes!

Are you guys flashing back to stock (rooted) before installing this or are you just flashing it from whatever ROM you're on (after data wipe)? I'm on Liberty and just wondering if I should go back to stock first.

Came from Liberty. Wiped and installed with no problems at all.

Cool, thanks...just waiting for my battery to charge up a bit then going to flash it. Been bored with no new ROMs for a while and lots of issues popping up with Liberty.
