DX2 is nice

Had to stop by Verizon today for my daughter. Had a chance to mess with the DX2. The screen is incredible the speed is awesome and that's not even rooted. Why would Motorola not give it 4g? Can't wait for the Bionic or Tartan.

I agree, I played with one too, its pretty nice. Would I use my upgrade on it from the DX? Probably not, but it is definitely a bump up.

^^^exactly^^^ I think Motorola could have saved alot of sales from the Thunderbolt and moved alot of X owners to upgrade if they had just added 4g

Agreed. However, if the OP doesn't change to say something about the DX, the guides are gonna have to move it. Just sayin'. :p

..reformed thread mover.

I had my droid X side by side with a droid x2. The X2's screen was crisper as was the processing speed.

I bought a DX2, played with it along with my Rooted GB DX and other than the screen resolution, I wasn't impressed. I found it to look grainy compared to my lower rez DX. The battery icon was very noticeably different. Returned it and have been happily waiting for something really awesome to come along.

My mom got the X2 and I got to play with it for a while. I thought it was really nice but not worth using an upgrade for. Sure the dual-core is sweet but I'm fine where I am until I get the socks blown off me.

I had one, returned it after 10 days, couldnt get my old trusty DX back fast enough....Dx2 has the potential to be nice, but the screen is downright terrible, everything looks fake on it,pictures dont look natural, neither do videos.
DX2 partitions memory different, and not in a good way...there is very little available ram to perform tasks. My audio quality was amazing on the dx2,but the music player was plagued with skips, pops, and freezing.I feel it was due to low availble ram.
Speed on wifi was fast, ill give it that, but you cant load many apps without it bogging down like my old droid 1.

As of today I have the X2 instead of the X and I'm still undecided.

Had an unfortunate water mishap with the X that forced me to get a new phone. No - I didn't have insurance. But with a 2 year old and a 3 year old I now do!

Anyway - managed to get a very early upgrade and when put on the spot to decide on a phone I went with the X2. This was Thursday and I've been second-guessing that decision ever since. I'm still unsure but know I have 14 days to decide if I want to keep it or not.

The screen seems great, it is fast, but now that I've had time to think I wonder if this is what I really want for 2 years.

But from the choices I'm not sure what else I would go with except possibly the Thunderbolt. Whatever it is I'm stuck with it for a couple years - decisions, decisions!

if 4g is in your area or scheduled to be soon, get the droid charge. the thunderbolt is plagued with poor battery life and random FCs among other things

p.s. get the droid charge before the 7th and you will be locked into unlimited 4g for $29.99

4G is supposed to be in my area soon (west of Boston), but the Charge is another $100. That's the tough part for me at the moment.

i can definitely understand why Moto didn't put 4g in the DX2. This was just a model refresh not a redesign. They're saving their media madness 4G entry for the Bionic.

Couldn't keep the X2 knowing it was mine for eternity. Or at least until Feb 2013!! It was OK, but not where I want to stay for that long.

So I shelled out the extra bucks and went with the Charge. And so far I'm loving it!

Now for 4G to make its way to me.

I'm really tempted by the D3. FFC and GSM are cool. I don't really care for a keyboard. I fear that they will be too hard on my thumbs. Guess I need to try one. I had a Moto Q and that was fine but the Samsung Saga gave me cramps.

I just had to get an insurance replacement phone for my DX and was very glad when I found out Asurion would send me a DX again rather than a DX2. I don't think dual core wins out over an arguably worse looking screen and lack of developer support (ROMs, hacks, etc).

I've read that Verizon doesn't have any more DX for warranty claims and are sending people a DX2 instead.

if the dx2 is unlocked once it gets GB like the atrix that may be enough to upgrade to that phone, but not me. moto has just not been to nice when it comes to keeping their word... IE: Droid 3 Locked, so its possible the Droid Bionic will also be in fact Locked
Samsung, HTC, LG, Kyocera, Sony = +1
Motorola = -3 (-2 points for lieing)(-1 for being anal about it)
