Eris to v2.x, when?

Talked to a guy at the Verizon store today (getting a battery replacement for my eris) and he said that the update would be next month, along with the release of a new Motorola Android phone...

Yeah, there are second-hand accounts of Verizon reps giving dates ranging from last month to next year for the update. No offense, I don't doubt that what you're telling us is true, but I've long since given up on putting any faith in what somebody was told by a VZW peon, because it's getting pretty obvious that they don't know jack. The number of different answers I've gotten to questions on a range of topics from those people tells me their technical training is... um... nonexistent.

Actually it would make sense to have the update pushed around the same time the devour is coming out...since it will be in the same price bracket as the eris, owners would tend to be less pissed about it. (new phone same price but with new software blah blah blah)

I'm curious if this updated ROM will have an update to the FLASH Lite player... or maybe even the new FLASH 10.1 player we have been waiting for... any word? :)

Because I got so bored guessing the date of this baby's birth I thought I would throw out a little mystery.

I was looking at my Setting/About Phone Screen to see why these photos (and the one supplied by NKT) looked so different from my 1.5 screen. What's missing is the top 4 options, System Updates, Status, Legal Information and Model Number. hmmmm...ok

So my question to NKT is: have these been moved down or off this screen? The Engagement article also mentioned that Sense was left out of the OTA, can NKT confirm that is the case on his test phone?

BTW doesn't the 2nd photo look like the same background material as the photo from NKT but Sans the magic marker...

Enquiring [Sic] minds want to know.

NKT does in fact have sense on his tester phone, i think ALL, and i mean EVERY SINGLE person who claimed to get a OTA of 2.1 (sense or not) were....lying.

The tester looks real. Probably a higher up at vzw by now. I gotta tell ya tho. There is no positive date, although some of the stuff coming from htc looks promising.

of course i havent been to work in a couple of days. when i left it was still q1 2010.

not that i could give any non public info anyway, however the above is still what we are told.

Not that I've been on here all that long, but it seems that the users posting these links to news articles are all either posting for the first time, or around the 3rd time...

I've been doing checkin all day long... I just got my hopes up, because it took a longer time for the triangle to appear... but it appeared, and still nothing.
