Root Evo performance? + How to partition SD card to class 6?

My Evo has been running a tadbit slow lately and I was already wiped the Cache and Dalvik Cache, and tweaked SetCPU and using a pretty nice kernel but randomly out of the blue my phones been slowing down, I figured I'd try partitioning my sd card in hopes of making the phone run smoother ( For some reason I rooted my wife's htc incredible with incredikernel and her phone is godlike it makes me rage face) Right now I'm using MIUI with Tiamat2.6.38.6
Internal Sotrage 183MB
426MB Total
With a 16GB SD card I'll post more phone info after my phone is done copying all the files to my PC.

I think you may be confused.

The class rating of the SD card is an inherit property of how fast the cards read/write speed is. It cannot be changed by partitioning. If you want a faster card you have to pay the $$$ to buy it that way.

What setCPU settings are you using?

I'm using 1113 Max
245 Min
Scaling Smartassv2
I'm just trying to get my performace a little better.

well if your phone is slowing down i would then go into recovery and wipe dalvik cache and cache. this should speed things up especially if you are on one rom for a while and have not been wiping regularly.

Give Ocn's advice a try, if that doesnt work, try a different kernel

Maybe bump up the min scale to 385(or whatever the next available min setting). Also, with Smartassv2, do not use any screen on/screen off profiles with this governor. It causes more hiccups than it helps;)

I completely forgot! that my backup had profiles *face palm* removing them seemed to speed me up a bit more but not quite exactly as fast as it used to what kernels would you have in mind for me to try?

I went ahead and updated the kernel and there's not much improvement would partioning the sd card still be a thing that could speed things up?

when updating the kernel, i assume that you wiped the caches as well? If not, do so, and youll likely see an improvement. And partitioning is usually only used for putting apks on there so as to avoid using the phones internal memory. So will it help? Yes, but not just cuz its partitioned. Youd hafta us apk2sd to have the apps installed on the sd card. :)

I'm going to make a small correction here. Sometimes my bud lives up to his name a little to well :p

For the Partition of your sdcard you will need to flash a program called a2sd by dark tremmor after you flash it you will need to go into terminal emulator (you'll have to download it if you dont have it or its not already burned into your ROM) DT does come with some roms so you should check to see if you have it simply open up te and type:
su
a2sd check
this will print out a report if a2sd is present if not you will get unknown command or not a valid program or some other error message. In the latter case you need to flash it.
if you have it and your card is partitioned then just simply type:
a2sd install
