Evo V 4g Retail

I think one of the main reasons this phone won't be seen early is because of Virgin's new policy stating that any phone introduced after May 1st has to be activated by May 26th or you will lose your grandfathered plan. They definitely don't want to see THIS phone on a $25 a month plan.

That's what I was thinking. If anyone happened to get their hands on the phone early, the automated system might not force them to go to the 35+/month plans.
 
Did anybody notice that on the Beyond Talk page of VMs site, it shows the EVO V and if you click Retailers, it states available 6/10

I really hope that those who pre-ordered receive it first. It'd be nice if we got it the Monday or Tuesday after the 31st if a few people (like me with that SAVE20 code) bought 2nd day shipping :D. If it doesn't ship until the 10th, I just wasted 13 bucks having it shipped when I could have picked it up at a store...
 
Pre-orders will ship the 31st. I just opted into ship to store. I'm thinking about changing the shipping so I can get it sooner though... I had just selected standard shipping.
 
I decided to wait until it's in the stores for 2 reasons:

1. I have a couple AMEX gift cards I wanted to use on this order, and you can't redeem them online.

2. I'm still holding out hope that they'll arrive in the stores sometime next week, even though it's looking less and less likely.
 
Sheww, good thing I pre-ordered my EVO V 3D yesterday, visited radioshack's website today looks like they have stopped taking pre-orders for the phone. Went to radioshack's wepage under virgin mobile phones and the EVO V is now no where to be found. Also on their main webpage it shows to preorder but when you click nothing is there, looks like the orders have been filled? At least I got mine :D

Yeah I noticed that this morning, I selected 2nd day shipping on my preorder. Figure with the $20 off it's still cheaper than free shipping from Virgin. Hope to see it by the following Monday. :D
 
I just heard from a Radio Shack owner that they expect to see it in the stores by 6/1, maybe earlier.

Also, there's a post on Howard Forums that states that many of the smaller VM dealers expect to see them in next week as well.
 
I called my Radio Shack, they said they believe they will have them in stock [on the shelves the second week in June (around 6/10)] Which seems to coincide with the date that Virgin set for Retailers. They said that my pre-order would ship AT LATEST 3/31. They think they may start shipping out earlier. Also said that typically Ship-To-Store is a bit quicker [should come through their shipping distribution channels, compared to shipping to home via UPS/USPS/etc]

They said, from what they understand, no Radio Shack retailers will have them IN HAND until after 3/31 AT LEAST. [If Virgin starts shipping them earlier, store stock & pre-orders may arrive at the same time]

I have a feeling that they must've got a ton of Pre-Orders to fill, being that no other retailer is taking any, and Radio Shack ALREADY seems to have stopped.
 
Yep, no where on radioshack's website is the HTC Evo V, all the preorders are filled. Glad I preordered mine when I had the chance after seeing the post on here. Thanks to thebryceee for the SAVE20 code :)
 
I actually opted to wait to get it from Target cause last time they gave a $50 gift card when I got my Triumph from there.

Just walked by the electronics section and the Walmart that's 2 mins away just started selling VM phones. A lot of them have been sold.

My Walmart's been selling them for quite awhile, bought my Rumor 2 there like two years ago. Must be up to the store or electronics manager I guess. thebryceee, just saw your photo. Damn, they're even selling Triumphs at your store.

For $229. The Optimus Elite actually doesn't look too bad up close. Still wouldn't get that over the Evo V tho.

I'd be a bit leary of the Elite. Seems Virgin has it locked down, lots of people on the FB page says that they've bricked theirs just by trying to run a wifi hotspot widget. Locks up your data connection permanently!
