Root Fav ROM?

I use ZenEXP rev7. The thing that keeps me here as opposed to trying other ROMs is the phone function itself. I have never had the silent issue, dialer lag, or other general phone problems. I'm sure other ROMs have ironed out these issues too, but I have set up my phone so much that I do not see myself changing for awhile.

I have tried every ROM available for the Eris. keep on going back to Ic3romv2.7... love the white status bar.

Ok, I was on Ivan's Official Eris for a couple days, but I started having problems with the Market. It was probably something stupid that I did. Oh well.

I decided to start fresh with a new one and so now I'm with Evil Eris 3. It's pretty neat and I haven't put on Launcherpro yet. I really did miss the HTC widgets like Calendar and Bookmarks. I do have Beautiful Widgets and I use that for my clock. I've tried Pure Grid calendar and it's very similar to the HTC Calendar, but I dunno...I still like the HTC one better.

I haven't tried the non-transparent vanilla lockscreen yet, as described here. I'll give Evil Eris 3 a couple of days running as-is before I decide to mess with it. I did add wifi tethering and overclock, of course. Oh, I also got rid of that nexus Gallery. It kept asking for permission to log into my picasa, and I don't want picasa pictures on my phone.

I too have tried many, if not all of the roms. I keep going back to Aloysius. I am on Snow right now.
Feels fast and zippy. No problems. I did an APN backup to get MMS to work and I havent found anything that doesnt work so far.

I need to do that APN backup as well. I'm on Aloysius Snow and have not had a need for sending MMS, but I''ll be pissed when I'm somewhere and want to send a pic.

WW 3.2
CyanogenEris

IC3 2.7/2.9
Tainted Vanilla 1.4

I simply prefer the vanilla roms over Sence based ones..

I hate the dialer, text messaging and photo app that comes with Sence..

Non sence based roms such as the first two listed are much snapper. I love the fact that I can open my text messaging client and the conversation instantly opens with no load time.

Both WW and CE are almost identical except CE is still having a few bugs that make it unusable for me atm. (battery drain or wifi depending on the kernel you use)

WW also has some issue such as MMS, although you can use Handcent to fix this problem. Other than that WW is 100% stable and everything is working for me :)

I must admit I had to make a few changes to WW though such as the boot animation (very childish) and the notification text (which was set to White Widow instead of Verizon Wireless). Both of these things were easy to fix and I now love this rom...

No, there was something up with the market that was a configuration problem that Google needed to fix. They have fixed it as of this afternoon.

Actually, I knew about that problem. My issue was Market kept crashing. com.android.vendor. But I've reflashed Ivan's and I have a suspicion that it was removing Sense that caused it. Not sure yet, but I'm not going to remove Sense anymore.

Edit: I figured it out. My market and some other things were crashing after i installed the non-transparent vanilla lock. Thank goodness I did a nand backup.

Lately I've been switching ROMs like I switch socks.
Can't decide between Ic3rom, White Widow3.2, and evil eris 3.0

I have been pretty faithful to Ic3. Primarily because it is snappy, and I cant justify woopity doo eye candy for core phone features. Everything just has to work. Oh, and the dialer is so much better then stock (and the variations of)

Don't know why, but for me ErisLightningBolt 1.4 screams on my Eris. I consistently get over 5 Mflops w/all the OC settings and everything else the same as w/in the other ROMS I've tried.

Having said that, I'm currently running Sense-able because last night during a test of another ROM, I somehow corrupted my NAND backups and couldn't restore ELB1.4, nor could I restore my other ROM test backups w/the exception of the Sense-able one. It runs pretty consistently in the mid- to high-3s w/the same settings.

I loved the white status bar. I wish there was a way for ww3.2 and aloyv12 to have it

I totally agree, if either one of those had the white bar, they'd be my daily driver. This is the main fact that is keeping me with the Ic3rom, plus it's stable and I've had no problems.

I've found myself going towards the rotary lock screen as well, at first I was all for the new android 2.1 lock screen. But I just love the old 2.0 lock screen. I know andrizoid is working on it for an upcoming release. yeyee

With Aloysius 12 you can find metamorphs for the Sprint Hero 2.1 Leak that will change the status bar. Follow the theme link in Spencer's first post for Aloysius on the XDA forum.
