Favorite App so far.... Developers please see link to Announcements above.

I searched for glu in the market and found it, it doesn't show up on appbrain though.

Very cool game by the way, reminds me alot of Aion.

One of the best Apps I have found is System Panel it is really nice and allows you to kill apps it tells you CPU info for each app, and Ram use, Imo this is a must have app and it will also keep logs to allow you to see what apps are using the most CPU and battery life and the UI is really nice. I just got the paid version and I like it a lot.

Launcher Pro+ by a mile

also:
google voice (<3 google voice)
smartbar (quick settings for ez access to wifi/APN/GPS/brightness/etc..., great task manager, allows reprogramming of some hard buttons of phone)
volumer++ (volume control)

Got to be my back up pro, aldiko, blik calendar, andro zip, look out and k-9.

My backup pro helped me out a lot when i switched phones! :p

Some that haven't been mentioned yet:

BlueRss - rss viewer if you dont use google reader

any app to costumize top bar? ie: change/remove battery icon?
thanks

I second this question/request.

The top bar on my Captivate is so crowded with stuff that's visibile elsewhere on my device (and in easier-to-view shapes and sizes, places, etc.) than the tiny top bar.

To take it a step further, the only things I need on that bar are my signal strength, 3g transmission, Weatherbug temp and variable email/text notificiations.

Is there an existing way to modify this bar or might there be someone out there working on an app to allow for such modification??

Root. :)

i know with Virtuous custom Kernel v2, you can hide items on the tool bar.

My updated list for everyday use:

Flashlight Alerts - flashes the camera LED when incoming phone calls and SMS (I sit my phone face down)
Handcent SMS & K-9 mail
No Lock & Lockenabler - for when I'm at home to save that power button
3G Watchdog & APNdroid - shuts off mobile data if I reach the quota
Beautiful widgets - goes good on my screens
Launcher Pro Plus - supporting Fede is worth it
Hi Yahoo, Hi MSN, Ventriloid & Skype - keep in touch!
Smart Keyboard Pro - less annoying predictions and easy to see keyboard skins

ES File Explorer to manage files on your device and transfer files to and from your PC via WiFi.

Android is a mobile operating system. My Top 5 Android Applications as below:
Multi touch and big screen
Video calling
multitasking
Bluetooth
Big storage capacity

Huh? I thought the tread says ANDROID APPLICATIONS !!! Not ANDROID FEATURES !!

As of now for me it has to be.

1. Extended Controld Widget
2. Launcher Pro
3. Battery Indicator Pro
4. Advanced Task Killer
5. Lookout security

Might I suggest stearing clear of any Task Killing app? Android is NOT windows. It really really really doesn't need, or benefit from a task killer. They can cause problems (battery life, alarms etc) and give no benefit.

1. Launcher Pro
2. FolderOrganizer
3. AudioManager Pro
4. NewsRoom
5. Android Agenda Widget Plus

+ I agree with Nicmel. No Task killers.

in no particular order off the top of my head:

:) [aa]swiftp[/aa]
:) [aa]calwidget[/aa]
:) [aa]transdroid[/aa]
:) [aa]remote vnc w/ad[/aa]
:) [aa]mysettings[/aa]

In no particular order.

1. ADW launcher
2. SwiFTP
3. TorrentFU
4. Twonky
5. Co pilot live

I use a task killer - the difference on my X10 battery is loads better, sorry guys but that is fact. But x10 battery is terrible, so maybe not required for others.

No order to my list:

  • Launcher Pro Plus
  • Touiteur
  • Tasker
  • MortPlayer
  • XScope
I also think if someone wants to put a task killer in their list then that's fine. It's not a debate thread about how useful or not something is, it's about our top 5 Android apps. Perfectly valid if someone finds it useful whether you agree or not.
