Oh man...top 5 only? I have MORE than 5 apps I love and use!!! lol

In order:
1) LP+ <--$2.99 I get cool sense like widgets
2)SystemPanel Pro<--$2.99 It helps me monitor all of my apps
3)Widget Locker <--$1.99 I love this app. The ability to put widgets on my lock screen...priceless
4)Mini Info Donate<--$1.99 quick glace at battery life %, SD and internal memory left
5)Note Everything Pro<--$2.99 best note app (bad widget)

Except for widget locker, all these apps have a free version. I love these apps so much that I either bought the app or donated to suppor the developer :)

People should also say why the applications are in their top 5 as well!!!

aTakephon : Android dialer sucks this is the best Dialer Ive come across.
Poynt : If you need it, cant find a place, looking for a movie this will tell you were they are near you and how to get there
Titanium Backup : For preserving any apps to eas my compunction for experimentation with new ROMS
Navigation : Only the best for getting around any city.
SUFBs : SU root explorer with integrated terminal

Might I suggest stearing clear of any Task Killing app? Android is NOT windows. It really really really doesn't need, or benefit from a task killer. They can cause problems (battery life, alarms etc) and give no benefit.

You might suggest that. Or you might realize that many android users have different ROMs on their phones that react differently to task killers than what you've experienced. Some report much better performance using task killers. If you don't that's fine. I don't have a particular affinity to them myself, just sayin'...

LauncherPro: has to there since its my home screen of choice
SetCPU: is indispensible running OC'd Kernals
ShootMe: Im addicted to taking screenshots
Fastest Droid: 0-60/top speed app; always trying to improve
Manga Browser: gets new episodes before any website I know of

1. ADW launcher
2. Opera
3. Advanced Task Killer
4. aTrackDog
5. Pure Grid Calendar Widget

bonuses: TuneIn Radio, Navigon, eBuddy & LauncherPro Plus
Sorry but 5 apps is kinda small.

Launcher Pro (definitely #1)

In no particular Order:
Google Shopper (scan bar codes and instantly compare prices)
Pandora
Battery Life
Advanced Task Killer

I love the trends you can see starting.

in no order:

- LauncherPro
- NHL GameCenter
- TweetDeck
- FeedR

1. Happy Hours - Find happy hours near you using GPS! It tells you the hours and specials. Must have when trying to find a happy hour on the weekend.

2. DroidLight - I know flashlight apps are a dime a dozen but I can't believe how often I end up using it.

3. Lightning Bug - I need white noise when I sleep, so when I am traveling this thing is great and has great features and GUI.

4. SetCPU - Must have for Overclockers. Profiles make balancing power and battery life very effective

5. Napster - $10 a month is a con but its so nice being able to play just about any song you want anytime you want. Has some bugs still.

wow lots of surprising apps on here.

1. pandora
2. (google) navigation
3. google voice
4. widget locker
5. titanium backup

do roms count? I guess thats a given...

1. LauncherPro Plus
2. Tasker
3. NFL Mobile
4. Slacker radio
5. Calorie Counter (by FatSecret)

Ok, I'm bored so I am going to do my next 5. Really I need all 10 of these as my top ones.

6. AppAlarm Pro (my only alarm clock and so nice)
7. WidgetLocker
8. HTC_IME keyboard (custom themed by me)
9. RingDroid
10. Google apps (navigation, voice, etc, couldn't live without these!)

These are the five 3rd party apps I used the most.

* Google Maps/Nav
* Radiotime
* Easytether Pro
* Dropbox
* Weatherbug Pro

I'd love to be able to add gvSIG mobile or some other GIS app to that list.

Shazam in with an honorable mention.

with Advanced Task killer you can set some programs to 'ignore' so the program never closes them. I still think it's good app.

In no particular order...

advanced task killer
automatic task killer
task killer pro
white filler
big killer

I figure if one task killer works, five must be the bomb!
