I wanted a new "smart phone".
Walked in to see what was available and walked out with an Evo 4G.
But here's the thing. Something didn't seem right. I found out how to check phone info and found the numbers didn't match.
I like the phone a lot but the story seems to always be changing when I ask questions.
If you tell me that I should stop asking questions from the store and guy I bought it from I'll understand. But if that's the case how do I get this thing to work right?
One thing he told me is that in order for this phone to work right on the network it has to run 2.2. He also told me to never hit "update".
When I go into software information it says 2.3.3
Most feature work but not all of them. Wifi says connected but everything comes up "error" when I try to make a call or go to the web.
Should I try to return it?
BTW I called HTC and they were cool about not asking me for name and SN. They did say they would not honor warranty.
How much should I say?
