Froyo EC05 (DI18 users - Install instructions post 39)!

I am very much considering that option. It's day 5 of a 4 day roll out and still no EC05 to replace EB13

Just to confirm other's thoughts....

I just flashed back to 2.1... ran the android update under about phone.... and BAM downloading EC05.

So... if you are on EB13 and really want EC05.... get odin and flash back to 2.1
 
I got the Sprint notification about Sprint ID this morning, but no sign of the OTA. I'm stock EB13, reset to factory defaults yesterday, downloaded/updated apps, did the rain dance, etc. I figure I'm not really missing much since I do have EB13, but it's funny how when you expect something to be coming, even if you don't need it, it makes you anxious until you get it.

Remove the .zip and just leave the update.
 
Update is definitely not pulled! Metro Detroit.. I'd been waiting patiently for weeks and I finally got the notice about the update with Sprint ID coming yesterday. My phone was rooted and when I saw the update this morning, I hit ok and it rebooted but the update failed. I just backed up and restored to factory defaults through ClockworkMod and checked for update and it picked up MR4 EC04 Froyo! Waiting anxiously as it downloads again - 91.5 MB.

i think i have di 18 yea hers was just like mine woke up this morning to found she has a update and i dont thts bs i got mine way before heres. i think its the people that dont care get it and the ones who has been waiting get screwed whatever
 
Shoot, just waited an hour for the whole backup, restore, download process and it says again

I just did a wipe data/factory reset off the Samsung Recovery Utils menu that was still open after the failed update, then booted up and went to Settings > Privacy > Factory Data Reset as suggested above... Not taking any chances this time around about making sure all bloatware is intact. Re-downloading... ahhh

It did. and then was restarted. They are tracking multiple issues, mostly with sd card access.
I just got off with Advanced device (much higher than "advanced support"). they guy said his recommendation was to do a rtn and refuse any updates. lol.

I have two epics left. traded one for an evo and could not be happier with the Evo.

Onoe of our epics was updated to unlucky 13 in Feb and experienced all the known bugs: orientation sensing problems, about 20% loss of battery, poor data connection.

The second epic did not get 13 and went straight to the newer 05 this morning when the suspense of 05 was lifted.

According to advanced device almost all the 13 will need a RTN to get 05. I know I will.

Not supported by the facts. Fir multimedia the evo wins hands down. I have both. video and HDMI out makes evo a hands down winner. the kickstand makes it great as well. they have the same resolution and the touted quality of epics amoled is mainly manifest in over-saturation which often is not better.

they say they are working on it but even if it works it could introduce additional bugs to the several known in 13 and 05. if you really want 05 you are better off with an RTN (factory reset) anyway.
 
So I have EB13, How can I go back to the DI18 software?
And I know someone will say Odin, but what the hell is Odin? :D
 
My husband just got the message for the new update. He's still on DI18. I manually updated to EB13 last month and haven't recieved message for the latest update :(. We are in Ft. Worth Tx.
 
UPDATE:

Seems that the issue is that I'm missing some sprint stock software and need to reset to stock DI18. Trying to find a good link to use Odin to go back to that - help appreciated!

In DC area. Got the OTA push an hour or so ago. Proceeded with installation, then it aborted due to a status 7 error. I downloaded the OTA update again from post 39, and tried again.

After Verifying Current System step:

I just got something thru sprint zone that update would be coming but have not got anything, I manually updated last month to EB13. Waco texas

Hello,

I'm running the stock EB13 update that came out weeks ago and have not received the update notification to EC05 yet. Just wondering if anyone running the non-rooted EB13 version got the notification to EC05?

I did notice if i go to the system updates and try to update anything, it gives me an error saying my profile could not be updated and to contact customer care if it persists. At the bottom it says Error: Unknown Error

Anyone else having this issue?
