By the way, just to follow up on my previous post - the ZeroLemon extended battery has an NFC chip as well. Puts it above lots of other batteries IMO.
I love Game of Thrones Razor. Both the show and the books.
Good man
I've never seen the show but now you guys have me wanting to read the books.
You should! They're excellent.
Game of Thrones is more or less fantasy, right?
If so, I've really no interest. Can't stand LOTR. Tried to watch it a couple times but just bores me to death.
Yes, it's fantasy, but it's pretty different than LOTR. LOTR is the quintessential example of what's known as "
high fantasy" - fantastical creatures, magic, a focus on one or a small group of protagonists and their singular struggle against a force of evil.
Game of Thrones is closer to "
Sword and sorcery" fantasy, although it contains certain elements of high fantasy as well. Game of Thrones has constantly shifting viewpoints; rather than one main character (ie. Bilbo, Frodo) it has a huge cast, it gives you different viewpoints of the events of the books and adds a very interesting depth of perspective. However, there's really very little of the "sorcery" part present. Game of Thrones is very gritty fantasy - battles, battles, and more battles; court politics, intrigue, backstabbing, plots, and lots of character development. The characters in LOTR hardly ever change, their alignments are set and we don't get much in the way of development, with of course the notable exception of Frodo fighting the influence of the Ring. Game of Thrones has the most character development of any series I've ever read, and I've read a lot of fantasy. There's storylines upon storylines taking place all over the world that the author created, it doesn't focus on just one group of characters. It's about as different from LOTR as you can get while still being called fantasy. It's getting more and more mainstream acceptance, so it's definitely not just for fantasy readers. I'd really recommend it - why not try watching an episode or two of the show and see if it draws you in?
