My pleasure. I used to hang with the night owls for just talking (the thread was never silent), we had a different vibe and it was more laid back.
Morning glories would come in, read the overnight posts and demand my resignation while unloading what they thought of me, usually with offers for sex. With myself.
Had to explain a number of times that "qft" meant "quoted for truth" and not whatever someone dreamed up with the f that day. Btw, obtw, fwiw, afaik, and even rotf - cause for my removal from staff because of me being obscene using such phrases. And they were actually serious.
I still remember the pleasure of being demonized by someone who told me that they had no intention of reading what I actually wrote - their friend said what I said and I owed her an apology for what she thought l said, along with being banned.
I said, "Ok, here's your apology - I'm really sorry that you don't get it and I'm really sorry that you can't take the time to get your facts straight."
They declared victory in public because I apologized and warned me I was getting fired next.
A lot of people wanted me to know that, and I quote, "I'm buying the forums next week from Rob, so just accept I'm your new boss. Don't quit because I'm looking forward to firing you and then you'll be out of a job and on the street looking for work!"
I don't know why so many people thought they'd invented that line.

Yeah, I've been in those.
I recently argued with someone on another forum who brought that up while we discussing Chromecast.
He was hilariously wrong, it was like being right back there in time on the good old HD forums.
But here's the really funny part - to prove his superior (mis)knowledge of HD history, he actually countered with why beta was better than vhs (he was wrong about that too lol) - in 2014.
I'd thought it was time to review and revise the internet rules (that most people still don't know exist) but I guess I was wrong.
The rule that the beta-vhs war shall not die is still alive and well.
So is the sub-rule that most everyone on both sides of the beta-vhs war shall be wrong.

Actually it was me who coined his name (not to toot my own horn), and he took it when he signed in near the end!
I don't remember why I called him (or her) the Love Tunnel, though. I think it had something to do with the tunnel of light in the last season of LOST.

Rumor: Nexus 8 coming out at the end of April to replace the Nexus 7.
I would buy if the bluetooth works in my vehicle. Google has yet to do anything to fix it since the 4.4.2 update. All the tips that have worked for SOME people have not fixed mine.
