Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Congrats Dread, how far you have come.;)

Oh no ... He didn't just call you "Dread"?

I am the law!

.... now. ;)

Serious. I really don't like messing around in the guts of the phone... particularly if it's a full wipe and TiBU restore. Sure, I've done it dozens of times, and my heart still skips a beat every time I do it.

Good news about the Note 3 is that it's virtually un-brickable. If something goes wonky, I can always Odin back to stock, re-root and start all over. And I've done that too.

:)

Yeah, if you say that you're still nervous, I don't doubt you.

What I couldn't believe is that you projected that on to other veteran modders.

There's no evidence to support that, and quite a bit to the contrary.

It may be raining where you are but that doesn't mean that all the rest of us are getting soaked. :D

I suppose, Early, that it doesn't count that other veteran modders have told me that, does it? I suppose it's time for a poll ;)

How many have told you that?

Definitely time for a poll.

And we ought to define veteran modder.

Is this something that only affects Note users? LG users?

Whenever a new HTC comes out, the gang can't wait to do it again.

Neither do the Nexus veterans seem put out.

But we don't have to say Mother may I for a root exploit either, and it's always the same process with minor variations -

Backup, unlock bootloader, install recovery, either install SuperSU or a rooted rom, restore, from any operating system. Last month I got bored doing it again.

As I recall, Sonys are the same way.

No Odin or that other Samsung thing that won't die, no LG installer, no worrying if Verizon finds out.

Maybe you mean - veterans with Korean phones on Verizon and not "the majority" of modders? :dontknow:

Well I'm not saying that the people who told me that make up a supermajority of modders... nor will I maintain that the majority of modders dive into a good juicy ROM with a fearlessness that would make Houdini shudder.

I suppose that we can find common ground in the reality that each modder goes into it with their own confidence level, and either ROMs on such occasion as is only necessary, with some degree of trepidation; or routinely puts their device through its paces and has no fear.
I would hope we can agree on that :)

Sorry, I got nothing.

Let's poll. :)

Breaking News: Amazon Fire Tv has Flappy Bird Family exclusivity!

That should move at least another million units. :D
