I envy the variety of accessories available to the Apple folks. I spent several hours looking for a case for my boy's Transformer and could've choked the Suez canal with the stuff I saw for iDevices....and a grand total of two items for the Asus.
Eh, I mean, there can really never be an "outright winner." Android does some things way better than iPhones, and iPhones do some things better than Android. They're very different operating systems. Different strokes for different folks.

sounds about right and that is cuz apple never changes
Are you finding yourself limited in any way by using NFC launcher? In saw some pretty cool things in my readings of tasker. I am a man who pays for his apps but 7 bucks is a bigger commitment than 1 dollar. I haven't gotten my NFC tags yet so I don't have a point of reference. Are you finding that you wish you could NFC something with NFC launcher but can't?
for anyone who uses tasker, do you find that it affects battery life at all, since it needs to run in the background all the time?
I haven't noticed any more drain from using Tasker, although I didn't install it until a couple of days ago. However, I have not noticed it causing any significant battery drain, but I also plug my phone in on the way to work, and on the way home. I rarely get below 40% on my battery, by the time I go to bed, even with all the Tasker/NFC configuring I've been doing.
did anyone see (or post) this yet?

For me, absolutely NFC Launcher (NFCL) is far more limited than Tasker with NFCL. Tasker lets me have more control over volumes, turn on/off keyguard, easily load (and end!!!) multiple apps, set car mode to on. These are things I'm currently using via Tasker, but can't do in NFCL (yet.) You can get as complex / complicated in Tasker as you want, or, like me, just do the simple basic things.
Here is a sample shot of my 'car dock' tasker event (note that this doesn't show it setting my phone to "car dock" mode, and loading Ultra Car Home and Navigation):
It is SO easy to use, with the NFC tags. You don't have to create the profiles - just the events, as shown above. It is just as easy, if not easier, to set up these events, as it is with the launcher. I personally think the $6 or so for Tasker is a steal, as it allows you SO much control over your phone, to do things automatically. I'd never really used Tasker much before, but when combined with the NFC Launcher, it is downright fun!
Last night I redid my NFC Tags, so they only call on a Tasker event, and then programmed all I wanted the tag to do, in Tasker. That way I can completely test out the tag with Tasker without even using the tag (so that I can put the tags wherever, and test wherever I am and have the phone - I don't have to be by the tag to test it.) If I make changes to what I want that tag to do, I change tasker, without having to redo the tag. The downside of that is that these tags done THIS way really will only work on my phone, or a phone set up like mine (with Tasker, same naming conventions, called apps, etc.)
For those that haven't messed with NFC tags yet, but wanting to do so, I'd suggest starting with NFC Launcher, and then if you run into issues where you want to do more with them (which I did, within minutes of receiving my tags...lol), then consider Tasker.
Yeah I have no idea how to use it lol or whatever it's for
ok. this is bugging me. anyone know what is the best way to upload screenshots of our high res gnexi?
app isn't supporting local file uploads. if i email it to myself at work and upload it, i get a msg saying it's too large, no matter how small i make it to fit the max limits on the resolution.
grrrr.

Android weather, not very customizable at all, but I did the beautiful/fancy widget thing with the Inc wanted something different.
Speaking of, I have about 24 "purchased" apps that I no longer use or want to use
Hey y'all,
Thought I would throw this out there. By now, most of you know that I have completely abandoned Windows for Ubuntu Linux. So last night I dropped 80 bucks on a Kodak Printer w/ Google Cloud Printing capabilities. Come to find out that Kodak doesn't support Linux...but devs do! So I learned how use TAR balls and then was able to download drivers that allowed my distro to see my printer on my home network. This morning I bought cloud print from the market after testing the free version for docs/PDF/etc printing since I couldn't register my printer with Kodak using Ubuntu. Some terminal commands to setup my printer with Google Cloud Print beta and my printer was recognized. What was strange is that I couldn't get the Kodak equivalent of cloud print to see my printer through Google Cloud Print login but Kodak's Pik Flick app worked just fine. Different services it seems. So I can now print from my computer and my phone! Mad love to the Ubuntu nerds who made this possible! Thanks for reading!
