Morning y'all!

Tired and sore. Any suggestions to help me quit smoking?

Happy Sunday!

Every time you crave a cigarette punch yourself in the face. The pain should stop you thinking about smoking? :D

I tried smoking once. After my coughing fit I couldn't understand why people would keep doing until they got use to it?

Hey jmar. Me and hubby quit last May. Try drinking water from a 0.5lt bottle. Keep it with you all day; continuous refilling and emptying.
Hubby had help from laser therapy too (like acapuncture).

Congratulations on your decision to quit, Jmar! You will breathe better, your sense of smell will be better, your taste buds will come alive, and you'll have more money to spend! :D

Here's what I did:

I set a target date. My last day to smoke. I bought a final carton of cigarettes and started weaning myself down from 10 a day to 8 to 6 to 4. I told myself there was NO WAY I would buy any more cigarettes after the last one in this carton was gone.

You know what? I smoked them down and then there were none. I was antsy for about a week: not twitching or mean or shaking... just trying to substitute something else for the time spent smoking.

Android Forums is a great place to come to. Fresh fruit and vegetables help, especially carrot sticks. But whatever you do, DON'T smoke again.

That day for me was June 10, 2012. And I don't miss it a bit.

If you DO relapse, don't give up or punish yourself over it. Forgive yourself and say to yourself: "What am I doing? I'm a non-smoker now and this isn't me anymore." Over and over if you have to.

And you'll do great. Proud of you, Jmar! You can do this!

Hi all!! Been a busy weekend here. I worked (filling in as receptionist at the hair salon I go to) Friday and Saturday, celebrated my friend's divorce Friday night, went to the drive-in last night and today was mostly just relaxing and laundry.
Have to say, was quite disappointed in Oz. Kinda slow in my opinion. But Wreck It Ralph was the second movie and it was really cute.

Jmar - we're all here for you. It's hard but completely worth it to quit.

Thanks for all the well wishes. It's a tough go for sure. I'm down to half a pack or so from a pack and a half. Working out is helping. Thank you all for the support. I will keep you posted.

Morning all... A happy Monday to everyone.
Had a good day Saturday going for a walk along the river here in town, saw the huge 3 acre pool that the city made in the middle of the river, saw the skyline and a small scale train the parks and rec use for fun at the park. And then did yard work in the cooler evening air... Yesterday we had a 10hr Game of Thrones season 1 marathon... Awesome!
Not really ready to head back to work, but oh well.
Good luck with the Quitting Jmar. We did it just over a month ago, but we are using a vapor method. Www.Allaboutvapor.Com for us locally. It's not a complete quit, but just a tool to wean off the actual cigs, then down in the nicotine levels.... Haven't had a cig in 4 weeks.

Ugh, our buyer just had his mortgage broker call us to tell us he couldn't buy the house because his loan fell through. I think that's a call I would make personally and not have someone else make for me. Oh well. Probably for the best anyway.

Sorry man! That's a bummer.

Reporting in, all safe here. I work in Cambridge, so nowhere near Copley, but I do pass by there on my commute in and out every day, really scary.

Explosions rock Boston Marathon, several injured - CNN.com

EDIT: A friend from my Israel trip had a brother who was running in the marathon, and her mother was here in Boston as well to cheer him on - she's saying she can't reach either of them :( Please keep your fingers crossed for them.

EDIT2: Just following up - my friend's brother and mother turned up, they are unhurt. Phew.
