Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Yes, my Glaxy Nexus was working fine with Korean Language ( Kakao Talk - Ani Pang as well as Google translator etc.. ) but when I upgraded to 4.2.2 they all stopped working but further investigation revealed that it wasn't that 4.2.2 is not supporting these apps but 4.2.2 is not capable of displaying Korean. I am really surprised that Android actually dropped supporting Korean when the phone is from Korea ( Samsung Galaxy Nexus ). So I am just asking whether anyone can display Korean with 4.2.2 installed just to confirm my suspicion. Also, I'd like to know whether Android will bring back Korean support in the future OS version or they have permanently dropped the support. Thanks for your interest in my question.

Ugh. Why am I so indecisive? What the hell happened in my childhood, or what the hell is in my DNA that makes me this way?

For example, today I am going to exchange my G2 for the Nexus 5. Why, dammit, why??

I'm not even allowed to return anything at Best Buy for the next 3 months. They might as well have my picture up there.

Google dropped support for Korean in their 4.2 developers tools, it's considered a defect -

They just updated the Google Korean IME (keyboard, see Play Store) in September.

It looks like you are suffering through a defect rather than a move to purposefully drop Korean support.

More Android phones come from Korea than anywhere else, I'm sure Google knows that.

I sympathize, it sounds like a frustrating problem. :(

You simply need to do it before going back to your G2 where all of the features you want are.

You know it, I know it.

And if you have the financial mobility, why not.

But wouldn't it be easier to pick up the N5 in addition and swap them back and forth as you like?

I recall being able to do that on my Sprint account page, no problem.

Yes, you are probably right. I would pick up the other one and switch between them, but my wife would blow a gasket. $450 that could be spent on blah blah blah.

I have to seriously think this through before I go over to T-Mobile tonight.

G2: Bigger, brighter screen; 32GB of storage vs measly 16 GB on the T-Mobile offering; much better camera; much better battery life.

N5: Better build quality than the greasy, shiny G2 (I've gotten rid of the case; it's too thick with it on); KitKat available right out of the box; HUGE amount of developer support; higher pixel density (although it's probably negligible and comes at the cost of having a slightly smaller screen).

Ugh.

If you don't need to get it from T-Mobile/Best Buy, the 32GB version is available on Google Play for only 400 rather than 450 for only 16GB, or you can get the 16GB for 350. Much better deal overall.

Yes, but then it would take 2 to 3 weeks, since they are on back order. And my exchange/return window is up in 5 days.

Honestly, I'm leaning towards sticking with the G2. The biggest advantage of the N5 is development; not storage or battery or screen, which to me are the most important aspects of a phone.

Even with the roms available now on the G2, I'm not doing that much flashing. Why do I need more options when I don't take advantage of the ones I already have?

I need to go back to therapy.

If you're not picky on color, many people report that the white 32gb ship in one day.

I'm not too picky, but I think I will stay with the G2. The features on it are great, and the only ROM I've flashed is a stock rooted one with just a few little tweaks.

I know, I know. Maybe I'm bipolar or something.
 
All,
Checking in to share some good news - sometime in the next month or so, I'll most likely be switching to a non-VZW carrier and picking up the Nexus 5. :) I'm really excited. The LG G2 was a very tempting choice, but I can't deny myself the Nexus.

Anyone else planning on making upgrades now that holiday season is upon us?
 
That water slide looks AWESOME! :D

Anyone know anymore details about the Moto payment plan? Can it be used with Verizon. Lady really likes the Moto X and she'd probably be cool upgrading to it. Thoughts?
