Root GB no luv 4 hulu

I have worked with about half a dozen GB roms and i have yet to get hulu working. I know all the steps and they seem to work just fine with froyo roms but no success with any GB rom from any dev. App installs, flashhex installs, but the flashzip always stick phone in bootloop or incomplete wakeup. Anyone had any success?

it worked for me on some rom.... cant remember which cuz i dont care about hulu personally. Ill check my b/u's and see if i still have one with it. this may have been of no help, unless of course i find the rom LoL

update, it was kings froyo that it was workin for me on.... didnt care for the layout, so i changed back to cm7 like 3 hrs after trying it

Can you link me to the steps to get hulu working (that usually work on other roms)? I've been trying to get it working on my rom for a while now, and no one seems to have a link to the exact steps that are usually taken when its not included in a ROM

Thanks :)

heres the thread

and heres ocnbreze's 2 cents from another thread (http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/287918-hulu-app-kings-ultra-unleashed-rom.html)
you must have updated adobe flash. the current adobe flash will not work with hulu. so goto settings/applications/manage applications/adobe flash/uninstall updates and you should be good to go after that. if you have titanium backup, you can find adobe flash and long press it and select detach from market that way you will not update flash automatically.

what the hell? canadian dollars?

Whats with the Hulu love? I tried it for half a second, i say boo. I liked the other tv show options in the market better.

I ran it before on AOSP, haven't went to a AOSP gingerbread ROM in a while...

edit: when I get a chance I'll try my nandroid of salvage mod it doesn't have hulu installed on it.

The hulu Zip will not work with the 10.2 version of flash....that is correct. hulu WILL work with 10.2 but you havevto manually edit some files. Like said, when I get a breather I will post the link

...So I tried it on salvage mod, it was pretty simple, It should work on those other ROMs

I got it to work on the few ROMs that I flashed that didn't have it installed, sense or AOSP.

Let me retrace my steps...

edit: To get HULU to work a modified FLASH is needed. Stock wont work.

I found these on XDA, I forget where exactly, there where a few...This is how I got it to work for me.

Using titanium scroll to your current flash player, wipe data then uninstall. Now go to your file manager (root explorer, astro etc..) install modified flash then HULU.apk.

It should work. From HULU app choose a vid, hit hour glass/white screen, wait, then it should start playing.

Only works with "APP" not from site. If you update FLASH, HULU wont work

...let us know how it goes!

man, youre a busy boy lol much respect for all that you do in this forum homey!

...there somehow must be remnants and not clearing fully. I can't get this trick to work from a sense ROM but works on AOSP gingerbread... try this if you like.

I'm on cm 7.0.2.1, so try it from your gingerbread ROM...

after deleting the old one and installing the modified flash

from native browser type, about:debug ...don't hit any links

just, menu>more>settings>UA (user agent), hit linux desktop

now go to browser and search for HULU.com, see if you can navigate directly from the site and stream something?
