So anyways... at an attempt to fix the derailment of said train.. what's everyone's thoughts on the latest build of quattrimus?

Runs smooth, I like it. There's still a few things I miss, but....overall it would be a beta for most instead of an alpha. Solid foundation for future features. Say that three times fast!

Glad I'm not the only one that posted that now :p
(First page I think)

lol, i actually had one of those ice cream cookie sandwiches for the first time few days ago. felt like i should complete the experience while i was texting on my ics phone. was all good till the kilo of sugar hit me and regretted eating it

Just Pm ed Jerry about naming backside on ics and I think backside 4.0 is catchy correct me if I'm wrong but yeah

I personally like BACKside 'n Jerry's or BACKscream sandwich(BCS), but in the end, anything will do.
half the time I can't decide between tdm's quattrimus, and jerry's BACKside(I hope I never have to say that again!)
I've noticed that my data/web browsing is actually alot faster on quattrimus(could be the new browser )

The biggest problems I have with the quattrimus alpha5 ROM is apps on system are very difficult, almost impossible to move to uSD card (all of my paid apps for doing this were ineffectual), auto downloading of my apps where I don't want them to go (a stand alone app that doesn't have any system requirements should not be automatically put on the system). The Trebuchet launcher is pathetic and extremely limited, but I like my launcher anyway (just hoping I wouldn't have to try and delete another system app). I could not find the interface for app movement, so I could not choose the external option when first booted into ROM to keep apps from being downloaded to the system for no apparent reason.
BACKside doesn't have any of these problems
Google sync seem to be a bit on the hit and miss side, WiFi-3G won't sync with google (at least it doesn't appear to with the lack of any color in the WiFi indicator)
3G is weak and slow. WiFi isn't much better.

Other than all that I would say it's moving along OK.

From the home screen, menu-manage apps, select the app, click move to sd. I haven't had to, though. Without any indication, the system had just been installing everything it could to the sd card. I haven't tested 3G, but I get very respectable speed on WiFi.

All my apps were going to the system. There has got to be an interface for changing the download location, but I sure couldn't find it.

hmmmm... BACK stands for something thou so it has tostay

what does BACK stand for? :)
Based on Jerry's original post in his BACKside thread, located here it stands for this:

Blarfie - For creating the IHO repository, and fixing most of the bugs with CM7 OV ports
AOSP - The Android Open Source Project for creating the offical Android source
CyanogenMod - The entire team for all their hard work creating the best Android Mod available
KermikalElite - For helping me set up my build environment and compiling this ROM
Essentially he's giving credit via the BACKside name to those that helped him along the way.

None of you realize, we had this discussion before. If you dig back through the threads, around the time we helped sushifor5 with her phone. That's right around when I stopped lurking and became active on the forum.

Quick question.

Other then the novelty of the newest version of Android, what are some of the advantages of getting ICS onto the OV? Will it run any faster given the limitations of the processor? Just curious. Have been pretty happy with BACKside so far.
