A co-worker of mine said that he went to Radio Shack (in New York) today and bought his Evo for $156.00 with a 2 year contract. So you can probably shop around and get a deal.
I finally picked up an EVO tonight at BestBuy (for a Radio Shack pricematch sale valid thru 12/18 of
$149.99 see here ). They still called the RS to confirm sale price.
I went with BB over RS because they have no restocking fee vs RS 15% in case some Tegra2 handsets arrive soon or CES unveils other goodness.
I thought I was going to be in & out but when I played with the Nexus S it was way better than I expected. The EVO felt like a brick compared to NS but they both still feel good in my hands. I went with the EVO mainly because I would likely utilize it more for impromptu presentations where the 4.3" vs 4", significantly louder speaker & kickstand would come in handy

(plus sharper FF cam for group videocapture).
If some
Tegra2 1080p camcorder handsets arrive soon though I may have to return EVO. When I only had the EVO in my hand I started to fall back in want with it but those deep blacks, saturated colors, curved display, feel & 2.3GB of NS were more than I imagined. EVO still won out tonight for aforementioned reasons but it was not an easy call..
Just wanted to report back that RS & any BB $149.99 pricematch is only listed as thru 12/18 & maybe it will save someone here $50. I could have bought it for $50 less online at Amazon etc but did not want to be
subject to an additional $250-300 ETF. I'm going to try to resist turning it on tonight because I would get zero sleep..
Battery is fully charged now so will not leave it plugged in all night to see how much charge it keeps. Hope I made the right decision but I have 30, now 29 days to evaluate. Must resist..that power button now..
