Root [GUIDE] Howto Root LG Motion 4G

okay, like many many people in this thread have said....you do not need to use command prompt.....double click the root.bat file...and it will do it itself..

make sure you'll be on Charging only and usb debugging is enabled..install the apk..open it...restart...plug phone in...double click root.bat and BAM you should have root...it may take a couple retries...but it works..

Tried that, same result. I have admin privileges on the computer I am using, it keeps saying a bunch of stuff about directories being missing in the cmd when it tries to do everything after *dameon started successfully*

EDIT: ok, so after the errors, and the reboot, I opened the signed APK again, and double clicked root.bat, AND IT RAN! Downloading a root checker now, screenie to come.

Congrats mate now all you have to do is flash a ROM.

Ok i am pretty good with this stuff.. I hacked over 100k PSPs (estimation), jailbroken countless iPods and iPhones, my first computer had a virtual ip address of 0.0.0.0, so i generally have a decent handle on shit like this, but with Android, i am a certified n00b. I get most of the terminology, and it is actually quite similar to the psp scene (user mode, kernel access only major difference on the psp its all about kernel mode access, and in Android you need root permission), but with all I am reading, how do i get custom recovery on my motion? What is custom recovery? W what do i need it for? Where can i find roms? Why is it since i rooted, when i try to install like 70% of downloaded apps it says insufficient storage when i have 5gb left on my internal?

Would just like a bit of clarification...

I'm getting this when i try to root

Now i'm thinking about downgrading my software..rooting and then upgrading..possibly...is this a good idea just incase?

No no no, thus is exactly what was happening to me too ;-)

After It says all that stuff, and reboots the phone, open the signed apk again, reboot plug in to the PC, run root.bat again, and it should work just fine

my command prompt is stuck on daemon started successfully. what am i doing wrong?? and i rooted before so i know that im doing all the steps right, but i am just coming from a bricked phone stuck on bootloader. unroot & unbrick process finally worked but now i cant get root access again :(

Make sure you have the app installed, you have USB debugging on, and that your phone is plugged into your computer.

this post helps allot!!! thanks :3 regarding on LG motion, just one question... if you have'd hard bricked it, do you need to JTAG once you got hard bricked? btw more power! :D

I Know I'm Doing All The Steps Right But When I Check Debugging My Computer Wont Recognize Drivers... I Installed The Drivers From Post And Restarted Computer....Also Phone Connects When Debugging Is Unchecked...

Make sure you have that system backup test .apk

^^ Guys take that with a grain of salt they always respond that way. Im still waiting for ICS on the LG Connect for about a year now

You have a Optimus M don't you? Still waiting for that Gingerbread update that they said they were working on?
You mean the ones that users ported over? :P

LG Optimus M was already done with support when it was released. I don't know if anybody else found that to be obvious. I must have been the last person to buy the phone on retail back in the fall of 2011. I just bought the LG Motion 4G so I'm set now.

Also, rooting the phone worked fine for me but I noticed a difference in instructions on the original post from xda. The person said to move everything to C:\onxr instead of C:\o4xr. cmd was displaying the same message except it said:

REBOOT
REBOOT AGAIN?!
AGAIN?!

I mean my phone is rooted regardless

you only have to double click root.bat after the other steps no cd in to dir or anything like that and no command prompt to deal with just double click after the other steps

Oh, the cmd didn't bother me at all. It's nothing new to me. I guess I did the older tedious method.
