Root Help

OK Soo , I was trying to download some roms for my phone , it was working perfectly , it said reboot , it rebooted , but my phone doesn't turn back on , so maybe im thinking i have been bricked. is there a way to unbrick the Samsung admire for metro pcs?

What do you mean download roms exactly? Are you already rooted and you were downloading a rom in zip form via internet? Were you using rom manager at the time to get a rom? Just thinking a little more info might help you get an answer a little faster.

yes i was using rom manager and yes i was rooted , i was trying to download something via rom manager and my phone shut off , wont turn on

Aw man, that's a scary moment for sure. Have you tried pulling the battery and leaving it out for several minutes? Kind of a low tech solution but you never know. Also, I will move this to the root section so more experienced Admire rooters can get a look at this.

yeah , i took the battery out for about 2 minutes put it it , just wont turn on , and i cant find a ****ing unroot program for my phone anywhere -,-

Has nothing to do with unrooting. Rom Manager is NOT compatible with the Admire.

Let's see if we can get the phone into download mode. Do this:

1.) Pull out and replace the battery.
2.) Hold the camera button (lower right side of the phone) while plugging in the USB cable.

After holding the camera button for few seconds you should hopefully see a message about custom software being dangerous (I know, too little, too late), and asking you to press volume up to continue.

If you can get this far, we should be able to get you back up and running.

If not, you could try a USB Jig, or taking the phone back to Metro.

Sorry I can't be of any more help (unless you get download mode working), but you should really do some research in the future before installing ROMs on a your phone.

the camera thing dodnt work , and what is a usb jig?

Not sure if this is legit, but I noticed a thread that mentioned accessing recovery mode on this phone by holding the Back, Volume Down, and Power keys simultaneously. If you couldn't access download mode, this may be fruitless, but I thought it may be worth a shot.

Here is a USB jig. It will (hopefully) get you into download mode.

Yeah, that's how you enter recovery mode on the Admire. But if it's not going into download mode via keys, I doubt it'll get into recovery mode.

do you wanna perchase it for me <3?

Unfortunately I believe it would be a waste of money, as you're not getting anything at all on the screen, which leads me to believe the phone's bootloader is fubar.

If you could at least get the Samsung logo on screen, the jig would work. You're going to have to go see metro. Plug your sd card (if it's the one that came with the phone) in your PC, copy it, format it, put it back in the phone, and tell them that it powered off while you were sleeping, and you can't turn it back on. If they ask any questions, just play as stupid as you can.
