Root Homeless Kernel 1.0

How do you make them last long Your battery, I have the same ROM and the same kernel and the optimizer. And I have used 4 hrs and I have 80% battery

I turn data off when im not using it. For example: while im working it sits in my pocket for 7 to 8 hours , i check my texts and such during that period though. Simply put I keep 4g on when i need it and turn it off when i dont.

Wifi should be working, can anyone else confirm this? Usually it's just a module I need to recompile but mine is working. I can repackage it if that's the case.

Here's where i'm at so far with my extended battery. Last thing i'm trying to figure out is lowering that DunServer usage... looking for where the code for that might be so I can take a look. Any ideas PG? can't seem to find it in the source.

I'd try re-flashing 1.3 to get wifi working again, probably a bad flash or something, it happens.

I had a weird issue with my wifi not working this morning, but I turned it off and went to 4g and turned it back on and wifi worked fine. It hasn't done it since so maybe it was a random glitch.

I've been on this kernal all day with no battery savers and average/light use and have 55% after 12 1/2 hours on the standard battery. I will say that I am impressed. Great job.

Why does it seem like I have more running apps to close with 1.3 than with 1.0? Settings, Video Recorder, Music...They keep on popping up in running Apps. Or do I really need to even worry about this?

already try but still the same ... and return to the 1.0 kernel and does not work still does not work on wifi ... says Obtaining IP address .. and try different connections and routers ..

does the router have a password? if so try turning off the encryption.

I have a serious problem ... and flashed the phone back to stock rom and the wifi still does not work .. any ideas?

I had this happen when I used a battery saver app, but only a factory reset worked, if you use titanium backup test it before restoring anything cause it can cause wierd problems sometimes.

By the way 1.3 is rocking! in my test, I got 39 hours. Normal usage, some calls, web browsing, texts etc... I didn't play games but then again those eat battery legitimately so it's ok :)

i ended up changing back to 1.8ghz because that first day i used homeless kernal it was smooth and all but when i needed to use the gps, text, twitter, the phone got really reeeaalllly slow :\ sucks cuz i wanted this to work well lol but now im getting 12+hours of battery life with my phone overclocked

Greetings to everyone!!!

Just want to share my experience with the new Homeless Kernel v1.3.
I own two Esteem's; mine is base on the ZVB and the wife's is base on ZVC (just rooted and with CWM, I've been wanting to flash the Kernel on it but just waiting for confirmation that it works on the ZVC rom).

On mine, I've been running GingerSteem v1.0, I have tried it with different Kernels (for me its been the most stable one so far, its my opinion, plus remember not all phones are the same). I have tried, if not all ROMs available, then most of them, my respect to all Developers and Themers and of course testers and users.

(Out of the topic, I think that I should make a song named "All I do is Flash, Flash"). LOL. Ok, lets continue.

Last night I flashed the new Homeless Kernel v1.3 (I do have the LG Esteem Optimizer app installed). No issues what so ever, wifi works just fine, like the rest of the phone features. Last night I charged the battery (stock battery, wife took my extended battery, lol) to 100% then I calibrated it. Then I used the phone (heavy use) non stop for the first 10% (down to 90%); text, family locator, TMZ app, among others apps, but the main thing I did was surfing the internet (reading news, ESPN, etc.) Notice that there is no stand by, idle, etc.

Here is a pic:

Since then I have used the phone lightly/moderate (text, few calls, market, etc.) until 75% and now here is the pic.

Here is my setup:
My own Boot animation: I have two: Dwayne Wade and Scareface. Rockin Scareface right now.
ADW Ex-3 homescreens
6 Widgets: App Manager, Alarm Clock Xtreme, Simple Calendar, Data Enabler, Beautiful Widgets and Power Control Plus. All in the main screen.
I do like Power Control Plus because I can control my auto-rotate screen, battery, wi-fi, brightness(quadruple), bluetooth and vibrate and silent (that's how I got it set it up).

I have a total of 169 apps between system apps and user apps.
In conclusion, so far the Kernel its working great, will update if anything changes.

Thanks Kanaida for your great job.

If it got really slow just by doing those things it was probably the bug I'm trying to figure out (not mine, lg's) its very very rare and you know it's that bug because it will just be the video that slows down, by that I mean scrolling home screens etc... But it happens forever until a reboot. Also it happens with all roms and kernels so far, but it's extremely rare vs a stock phone. My optimizer makes it go away for the most part too on stock roms. It can even happen if you're not doing anything, but it has no events in any log, no unusual cpu or memory usage, so it's hard to find a root cause. The solution is much more tolerable now tho. We reboot quickly, not the 3 mins of the original rom so it's no biggie anymore. When you do all those things on this kernel it doesn't slow down, I use those things all the time. It's probably that the bug just never appeared on you before. It's like the reboot issue, some get it and some don't, or as often.

bro... this 1.3 kernel... really... is... the... SHITTT!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY F****** G-D.... Ive never seen anything like this before. sorry for the foul language but holy shiiiii!!!!!!!! Kanaida you are like a huge savior lol but dang, you are the man. Thanks for putting your time and effort. the 1.3 kernel is giving me so far 9 hours and im in 90% with the extended medium use. some internet. texting. THANKS BRO!

if its a rare thing ill reboot when i see the issue. Flashing back to this kernel, im still very curious to see what this kernel can do performance, and battery wise

Here is 2 screen shots. worked 2pm to 10:30pm and its 12:03am as I am typing this. Data turned off while at work. Running 1.3 homeless kernal and ick gse 1.4 hybrid rom,set cpu,rom manager and lg optimizer. On stock battery.
