is there anyway to delete the clockwork recovery completely and start from scratch? My computer won't read my phone when the usb is plugged in and im unable to complete the step by step instructions for the new clockwork to old clockwork. I have the icarus ROM on my sdcard ready to go but still have clockwork recovery 3.0.0.5. HELP PLEASE?

Other users that have had this problem did this:
1) Unplugged phone from computer.
2) Turned off PC
3) Turned on PC while phone unplugged.
4) Plugged phone AFTER computer fully booted.
5) Drivers Installed

Here are some alternate instructions... After doing Step 1, do this:

Put the folder for clockwork right on the c drive and rename it cwr so its short. Then run cmd.exe

Now type: CD c:cwr

Now type: fastboot-windows.exe erase recovery

Now type: fastboot-windows.exe flash recovery recovery.img

Reboot the phone and try to get in recovery

This will erase the new Clockwork Mod and install the version needed for Icarus. Will edit the instructions to make it simpler.

Hi,

I did this to my Metro Ascend and it's been stuck at the Android boot screen for over an hour... I followed all the steps before they were changed... Any help please

Do not panic. Did you do the backup as instructed in the instructions? If so, you are safe.

i tried rebooting and replugging and to no avail. Still wouldnt pop up file transfering.

Do not worry, I know the solution. Just turn off your phone and follow the instructions starting from Step 2.

I have rewritten the instructions to make them simpler and easier to read, understand, and carry out. Stay tuned, I will also soon provide simplifies instructions to fix the MMs bug.

Daduck and n0774k3n. If all else fails and it still doesn't work, revert back to the original ROM by doing this:

1) Remember the Backup you made that you copied to the computer, well copy it back to your SD card and boot into clockwork: Volume up, Call key, and power.
2) Choose Mounts and Storage, select restore, and find the backup file you created.

My PC will not allow me to explore the SD card. Says I need to enter a disk. I formatted my SD card like I was suppose to. The backup is on my computer and it wont communicate with my phone.

Well now its at a screen with a spot light moving across slowly at first then speeds up.... After a while it freezes and starts over from slowly at first then speeds up. It has been like this for 30min. Still cannot access SD Card.

Do you have an SD Card reader or access to another phone with an SD card slot? If you do have a phone with SD card access, put YOUR SD Card on the other phone and transfer the file using that phone. Then transfer the SD card to YOUR phone and boot into Clockwork by Volume UP, Call key, and Power until the black screen appears.Select Mounts and Backup, then Restore, and look for the file. Or you can try to see if he computer recognizes your phone this way: Turn phone off, Unplug phone from computer, restart computer, connect phone again AFTER computer fully boots, when the phone is showing the big battery sign, press Volume DOWN, End Key, and Power until the Huawei screen appears. Wait to see if the drivers install and try to move the backup file to your phone now. I am currently looking for other fixes.

Thank u joser116 and whoever all for this custom rom. Great job done u guys!

But i do have some minor complain..
When im trying to send a new text message, there is no add button to add the contact. I have to go thru my contact list, pick the contact, and then send text message.

Also, swype texting is not working.. :(

Sometimes the performance is running fast.. but at times its kinda slow..

Also, it rebooted on me once, when i went into the market..

Other than that, i still like the Rom.

Thanks again..

Yes, Swype is not working. The reason why the add contact button is not there is because Icarus has the stock Android Messaging app, which doesn't have that button. Huawei added the button but it is not really part of Android. Also, there is another way to add a contact to message. In the messaging app at the top, click on the option to start a New Message and on the new message screen, at the top, there is a box that says To. Click on that box and you can either type the number you want to text or search for the contact. As for a swype alternative, search for Keypurr on the Market. Or try Better Keyboard

Thanks joser116!
Also, how do i install apps to my SD card?
I install facebook, but it installed on my phone.
Is there a way i can transfer that to my SD?

Answer: Some apps have the ability to save to sd card. Some apps don't have that ability, like the Facebook app. You can find if an app has apps2sd ability by going into the apps page in the Market, but some apps don't say. If you download an app that has the apps2SD ability, it will download automatically to the SD Card. Also, you will not notice a change in the memory of the SD card even though you install apps in it because of the partition you made. To prove the feature, look for an app with apps2sd ability andcheck the phones memory before and after you istall the app and see if the phone memory changes

Daduck and n0774k3n, I have found the bootloop fix for Metro. I will edit the instructions to include this fix and will make it known as to when I incorporate the fix. Cricket users, disregard this message as Cricket Ascend's don't have this problem.

Can't wait I've been itching since Friday for this!
