Okay, so for those of you who are just unhappy with 2.2, or just want to go back and wait for the OTA; this is for you.

Step 3: Extract "the_gift" and open/install the appropriate drivers (32/64 bit).

Step 6: Extract the remaining zipped folders.

Step 7: Open RSD Lite.

Step 8: Browse (...) to the .sbf File and select it.

Step 9: Open "Bootloader" mode on your phone.
- Hold the Camera, Vol. Down, and Power buttons.

Step 10: Plug your phone into your computer.

Step 11: Select your Phone from the list and select "Start".

Step 12: Power off the Phone. Hold Power + Home Keys.

If you were looking for the tutorial on Installing Froyo, visit this link:

Just fair warning to all, I followed these steps and it didnt got 100% smoothly, took me several hours to actually get RSD to work right with the drivers and everything, so just be prepared in case it doesnt work right away.

What step did you get stuck at?

Awesome. I hope this solution works if we can't use the official Froyo update. I'm pretty sure some of us just jumped in heads first without thinking..and as much as I'd hate to admit it, I sure did. But the update was overdue, and I'm sure many users will agree on this.

But I'm glad someone helped with a HOW TO!

I don't really get why this was moved.. the install how to is on the other page, that's where people will look for this.

I wish they would move it back :/

umm I guess you haven't seen this

Motorola has sent out numerous C&D letters regarding the SBF.

DO NOT post links to the SBF on this forum or request a link via PM.

Anyone posting links from this point forward will be given an infraction or banned.
