HTC DROID Eris OS 2.1v3 download

anyone having problems with the HTC Clock/Weather widget? My weather doesnt seem to be working. It just has the clock with a "My Location" under it, but the location never seems to fill out, thus the weather never shows up.

am i the only one? i read through about 7 pages of this thread without seeing anything, and i couldnt read anymore so i just decided to post instead haha

I had the same weather problem. I found that you can fix it by going into settings, location and clock use wireless networks and or gps satellites. If you click gps satellites, you will likely need GPS to be enabled, so make sure "use wireless networks" is selected. I don't remember if this ws the exact solution to the problem, but I remember fixing the problem was a location setting.

Weather issue is still there on the home screen..but I wonder if it' because I do not have Update Automatically checked under settings. I am getting more bars then I ever got , it's quick , snappy and I am happy. Thanks ....

I didn't have the silent call issue the last two times, and I'm hoping I stay lucky.

Haven't noticed any bugs as of yet, never had the silent problem.

For you people who have never had the silent call bug, can you tell me if there's anything you think is unusual about your own use of the phone? Like, "I'm not using Gmail" or "I don't let my phone auto sync" or "I've never used bluetooth"? And is your hardware version "002" (in settings: about phone: hardware)?

I almost always use a Bluetooth, I use gmail regularly, I never use gtalk, and my hw is 02. I keep everything sync'd.

I was all set to put in an insurance claim, but I stopped when I saw the price and was wondering if I can contact Verizon about a device issue and get a new one without have to file an insurance claim?

As long as it is a hardware or software issue not related to something you have modified on the phone you should be fine for a warranty claim. Some have even been able to return phones running 2.1, but I think most of those are hardware issues.

I've never used Bluetooth, hardware is 0002

Seriously doubt it makes a difference, but my hardware is showing 0002.

I use bluetooth, auto sync and use gmail though.

I'm having the exact same issue. I've tried downloading the file twice, from two different sites. Both times it gives me the above message. The only way out is to hit Vol Up which freezes the phone.... Pull the battery and try again....

had the same problem for a few hours. then i downloaded it again from a different source and it worked right away. its on the pubilc drop box one.

Dunno if I'm alone, but I have NO CLUE how to get swype working. Every version I've tried says it's not the right size for the screen. Can someone help who has it running now? Thanks!

As I was updating to 2.1v3, I wondered....perhaps a poll is needed to determine how many times we have all flashed/performed hard resets on our machines. But what purpose would that serve? Someone somewhere is laughing to themselves....

The "poll" suggestion was only a joke, of course.

& I tried sms popup but it just takes me to the menu and wont let me in the app.... I would use the native message app but that too does not work.... Help would be greatly appreciated!

I have tried every one of these leeks and I can never get it to load on my phone. I load it on the SD and hold volume down button and red end key and it runs the program. It then doesn't do anything else. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? I was going to wait but decided to try the leak again. Thanks in advance

The Nexus One Gallery... changing from portrait to Landscape mode works fine on the 2.1 V3 leak.

I updated my phone last night, and installed the gallery this morning, and everything works fine.

Greetings. First post here, I just wanted to say thanks for all of the posts and suggestions.

I just installed the v3 leak and am seeing what works and what doesn't. My only question as it boots up is, did this version fix the google sign in problem?

Also, the time is messed up as it reboots. hope this gets fixed.

Update: Alot faster than leak v1!! Wow!
Update2: No new wallpapers, HTC widgets working (for the first time for me anyway)
Update3: FB works. Still at 2 bars (just like leak v1)

Update4: Wifi still not connecting, might be my home network. Weather widget works fine, location comes up.
Update5: Huge dialer issue, the phone slowed to a crawl and wouldn't dial a number, needed to reboot, it only happened once, so no big deal. Google Voice works great, better than with v1. Battery life is a little better, but cell standby still sits at 50%, and I dont know how to fix this.

I think this is the last update for this post. this leak is solid, anyone NOT wanting to root, just get the leak. You wont be disappointed.

But rooting is always better, from what I hear.

Yes, i believe 2.1v2 addressed the sign-in issue.

I don't know if this is your issue but I had a fellow poster on another forum with this issue. I spent 2 hours on video skype with him and tried everything. My last resort was asking if that was the original memory card that came with the phone, he said no he used the original in his mp3 player.

I told him switch it back because the memory card probably wasnt the right kind. Once he switched it back to the original, he was fine and installed the leak in like 10 minutes.

question about an issue i am having...in my status bar i have a notification (triangle with ! in it) and it says sign in error. it gives me a google sign in error asking for a password but the email address it shows is my correct address but @youtube.com instead of @gmail.com. i obviously can't enter a password cause thats noy my email....

any help???

I tried that and get the same thing happening it runs the download on my phone and then nothing happens.....I press the track ball and nothing....i can press volume up for recovery and the call button but that just runs the download again...Any ideas??...Thanks!!!

This happened to me with the first leak. One thing i tried and it seemed to work for me was to use the checkin service trick. Open the dialer, type in *#*#checkin#*#* and it should do its thing. It took the login error instances from everytime I booted up to about every 4 or 5 times.

But someone just told me that v2 fixed that issue.

You have an app that's keeping it awake. Or maybe it's trying to sync with something (Facebook, Gmail, etc.) but isn't able to.

It could be many different problems. Best thing is to not have frivolous apps running, like something that constantly gauges battery, signal, etc. running because they drain the battery like crazy. Or keep it awake.

Well so far V3 has been a giant failure for me. Loaded it to flash storage, reset, rebooted, followed the instructions and nothing, just sits there like a rock.

Got back into phone, formatted flash storage, copied over again, gets about 80% copied then windows looses the flash as a drive. Now I cannot transfer the file over. Gets to about the same point every time and bombs.

Downloaded file again from another source and again fails at the same spot.

This is sucking big time. I pretty frustrated at this point. I should have known better, everything has gone wrong today.

JRocker23 THANKS!!!! I had a different SD card then tried it again with the incorrect one....Third time was the charm.....Now just have to get everything back onto my phone. Thanks for the help!!!!!
