Root ICS/CM9-JB/CM10 Development Thread

I wish he had a Nexus 4...Imagine Quattrimus Blackbean....:)

Its a nice phone to be sure. I might still get one after the launch snafu. The biggest turnoff for me is the on-screen buttons, followed by the fixed storage and fixed battery. But I could probably forgive those issues for 4 cores and 2gb ram. :)

Next window of opportunity is my anniversary on 2/14...

Wow, I personally love the onscreen buttons. They go away when you need the real estate(video, gallery, etc.). This is my first nexus device so it's also my first Android with the onscreen keys. Takes about a minute to get used to them and about 10 minutes before you fall in love and decide to never go back to hard keys again :) The naked front of the Nexus is it's trademark and if I had to describe it in one word...Sexy...that's right...Sexy. No other phone except maybe a Galaxy Nexus has an "aura" of intimidating sexual power. But after using the onscreen keys, hardware keys seem like an old hat, or a thing of the past, or less "conventional".

Ok, so onscreen buttons? Trust me you'll love them after a day.

No expandable storage? Get a 16GB(That's all you'll get your hands on anyway) I personally never use much storage and could have gotten away with an 8GB(But they're not around). Again after beginning your relationship with your new sexy mistress you won't care how many HD movies you can throw in her closet :)

Battery life? I could care less. Why? Because it's FANTASTIC!! The battery life on my Nexus reminds me of the battery life on my OG Optimus V. That thing was a solid dawg. It's kinda sad. I'm selling my OV and my Marquee probably tomorrow. But with them all side by side it's like a little LG family lol. A true evolution for sure. The Nexus has the best traits of those 2, great battery life, breathtaking screen(the NOVA display on the Marquee was ahead of it's time imo)

So yea tdm and to all of you here: I would highly recommend the Nexus 4. I'm running on ST ATT for the time being. If I don't like it in a month I'll go elsewhere :)

The Nexus isn't a phone for everyone, but I feel that most of us in these forums have been searching for the raw android experience for sometime. In short this phone was made with us in mind.

I've checked into flashaholics anonymous, I'm keeping my Nexus 4 stock, unrooted.....until a stable or milestone build comes out for CM10.1.

That's why I prefer the Optimus G.

Ok,

So I flashed back to CTMod Final, and some apps are telling me I dont have true root on the phone but I think thats not possible, I get error saying Dalvik-cache of core.jar ...To fix the issue to create core.odex Not enuff space in system ROM for create core.odex Please free around 4MB clear dalvik-cache and try again.....any ideas?? I need this app to work on this version the panorama app works fine on CM9/CM10 builds......is it made just for ICS?
I'm not sure which app it is you are having trouble installing, but panorama is an ICS/JB feature. It sounds like that is the problem you are running into - if an app depends on Android 4+ features its not going to work on CTMod, which is Android 2.3.4 based.

Why do I always miss stuff like this?

:(

It's alright buddy. The GAPPS are pretty much a "must have" for the ROM. Just try to pay closer attention. You don't want to miss something that may one day brick your phone. Then you REALLY would be messed up. ;)

Is there a work around for the audio yet just wondering

No fixes yet. TDM said he would be back to work soon on cm10.

I am/have been running it as my daily driver and really the only audio issue I've had is the speakerphone will cut out after about 12 seconds. Other than that everything seems to work as it should minus the camera. Aokp is amazing for an alpha release. Give it a little time and I think we will see a really stable build

Well if it just speaker phone not to worried wasn't sure what meant by audio lol:D. That's cool with me I didn't know if it was no sound. I'm coming from the kyocera hydro to the marquee hydro doesn't have recovery or new kernel. Bored with it has ics but can't do much with it

Is mms working for cm10 or cm9 and which do you use cm9 or cm10 just asking new to the marquee

I haven't been online in a while which of these ALPHA builds is the most stable that I can use daily for the most part without any major problems?

Or better yet does anyone use one of these as their main build?

AOKP and CM10 test5, As usual the camera doesn't work, some random restarts sometimes, and BT issues, but they are very smooth and stables.

I got bored today so I ported MIUI 4.1 (JB MIUI). got it booting and most of its working decent.

I might post a test rom later, 3g/cell should be working but I cant try it out since my phone isn't active anymore.

I volunteer to test sounds fun boost mobile though I'm running your MIUI ICS

@tdm or blood, with the cm10 build I have had issues in any messaging app. Every once in a while a Window pops up saying sim card missing, sim card inserted, network found, etc. This was in no way effected by the 3g issue as 3g was working the whole time. Why is the cdma giving sim card alerts? Something in the build?

Probably something in the ril, but I don't know for sure.
