If you don't have an iphone...

i love the one that simply, "If you dont have an iphone, well you dont have an iphone" that came on while I was demoing a droid compared to an iphone. after it finishes I just go to them, " see apple realizes the iphone nothing special anymore and its only advantage is that it has the name iphone"
 
How come 44Mb/s is faster than only 96% of the US? Does that mean than 4% have more than this? When I last visited the US, the Internet was slow!

How is that any different than the Droid commercials the Droid does campaign? Remember in the word of cants. Droid does.

Thats the whole point of commercials to hype your product as much as possible so they can make money.
 
Increasing image of a product in the end works to the benefit of the company. It's actually a good advertising campaign. Apple isn't concerned with what they can do as compared to Droid. They never have from what I recall, but I could be wrong on that. They're only concerned with their product and retaining their status symbol image. Most people in the country will believe that the iPhone is what they want.

well said and also to branch off on that. I dont think that with these apple is trying to promote the Iphone exclusively, they are promotoing their ecosystem and its ease of use. Sure the droid line of phones can doo all of those things (in my opinion better), but it doesnt do them all natively and easily in one closed ecosystem.

Coming from the Desire/DesireHD forums I am absolutely staggered at the ridiculous statements that people make.

Let me clear up front to avoid any misinterpretations of this post:

  1. the video was great
  2. I own 2 android phones
  3. I love Android
  4. I love Google

With those things said I also happen to think that the iPhone4 is an outstanding piece of technology. I don't understand why people can't deal with it - it's like owning a device with a rival OS precludes the ability to appreciate any other competitor(s).

I've yet to see an Android device with a better screen, better video capture, better point-and-click stills photography, better touch sensitivity, better synching with a mac (natch) and, of course, better apps and games (even Google makes better apps for the iPhone than they do for Android!). The vast majority Android devices can't even match (let alone beat) the iPhone4 in just one of those areas - forget about beating the iPhone4 in all of them in one device!

Yes, iOS is restrictive but you know what? Most people don't care. That doesn't make them stupid. At all.

itsa joke and a silly one at that. yes there are rabid Android fans around but this is in a harmless manor.

and your Most people don't care comment is kinda perfect. i for one don't want to be like Most people and if it takes a cell phone to be different, then so be it. that's the beauty of our phones. no 2 are alike! :)

Am very pleased and surprised with the fact that no one is going crazy with Apple hate (as I said, this is not the case on the Desire/DHD forums).

I realized that what prompted me to write this post was the stupid comments on youtube in response to the video.

Brought my ire here.

What gets a lot of people in a twist is that Apple people think that their devices are made by a demigod and that demigod can do no wrong.. because of some divine influence.

I came from an iPhone.. for *MY* use I found it to be bland, unintuitive and downright frustrating.
Why does Apple tout the killing of the desktop yet you need a desktop to work with your device??

I thought the video nailed it dead on and that's why the Apple faithful are all over it right now.

jumped in android from iOS
and honnestly...
only they are different OS, comparable + and - except android has more hardware support than iOS since it's only on iDevices and not on a range of 10+ manufacturers with i think makes android the best platform to have fun with
 
I never believe any advertising. I have to read groups like this to find out what is really thought about the product.

I found Apple's feet of clay years ago, when I found out that I could crash the school's (crashproof - their advertising) Mac faster than my 98SE pc. After that, it's use what you want, but don't push it on me.

This goes for any advertised product. Including Android and Linux. Nothing is perfect.
 
so tired of all the apple bandwagon and all their fanboys. its just good branding people. most of these people know nothing about the products, they just buy them up like blind sheeples

This so insulting. I use a macbook pro because it works better than a windows based laptop.

It seems like some people simply make disparaging comments because they are sheeple. Good job.
 
I kinda find those commercials funny but ya know what they work. Most people don't care about the extra features that Android has to offer . I carried an Iphone4 along side my Incredible and a Thunderbolt for a couple weeks and it had a lot of advantages over both phones but it just wasn't for me. If the Iphone4 could run Android and had a slightly larger screen I'd own it. The hardware it self is amazingly built IMO and I think the OS is more refined but I perfer Android and the ability to feel in control. Even jailbroken I feel like I don't have full control over an iphone
 
I just think many of us try to make the other more superior than the other when in reality they are not that much difference except for what the individual prefer.

whats insulting is that you think one is better. they're DIFFERENT. better in some areas for one, better for other. that's the apple way of thinking. elitism, ours is better and the rest is crap.

Agreed. Sheeple are sheeple no matter what platform they use.

And I think some may have missed the point of that video, which was that Android is very close in providing the same sort of apps and experiences as iOS, with a few differences that may or may not be important.

As always, to each their own.
