Root [Kernel][AOSP] Imoseyon LeanKernel 5.0.3

*edit*

Since I found that rouge app eating up my partial wake usage, force closing it after use has DRAMATICALLY increased battery life on 4.1.2. So far better than 4.0, would definitely recommend flashing if anyone is on the fence.

The capital letters sold me :) I'm going to flash it now

:D if this works I will have some thanking to do. I think I may try flashing this tonight of course that is unrelated to my prior statement

:D Worth a shot.

@anyone who has flashed the newest version has the numbering been fixed with the speedtweak.sh script?

Yes it has, just replaced Smartass with V2, and I'd recommend at least trying V2 for a couple days. I was on the fence till Imo pretty much gave it his stamp of approval by removing his modified version.

In theory it should give better battery life, it stops the need for a screen off profile and drops the speed to the lowest slot when the screen is off. It is also a little more conservative on jacking up to higher slots upon wake than IX

So slightly less responsive on screen startup?

Yes, slightly. I started using v2 yesterday and I've noticed after waking my phone after it's been sitting idle for a while my lock screen clock doesn't automatically show the correct time. I'm talking a half a split second here before it correctly updates, but it's noticeable. I'm not really concerned if it'll give me a bump in battery. Then again, it could have been a fluke the two times it's happened

Ideally you shouldn't notice a difference with the wake time, again that would be best case scenario. It may also be affected if you are running things in the background when you lock the phone.

There's not much of a change between this and 4.1.2. I'm going to hold off for a bigger update. Especially since 4.1.2 is currently running great for me after calibration

Went ahead and flashed it..

Charging now for calibration.I went ahead and deleted the Juwe ram script and am gonna see if just running zram makes any difference in free ram. Probably not on AOSP, but I like playing with new toys.

FYI: HTC Released the GB Kernel Source. 5 Minutes after Imo asked for them too! Here comes some big changes!

I wouldn't really expect any changes. This just means that the dev's won't have to back port the source from other devices anymore

5.0.0 is up. He posted it on Twitter last night saying he needed testers and then released it officially shortly after  A user in the rootz thread is having trouble with BT. So, if you use it, you may want to hold off to see some more comments before flashing

BT did not work for me. Would not pair with my car and the setup app FC'ed after scanning a few times. Imo posted on rootz so he is aware of the issue. i use BT in my car too much so I went back to my nandroid.

Edit: I wonder if the source from HTC has the crapola BT stack that the sense roms are stuck with?

I played with it a little yesterday, and went back to 4.2.0.

Imo mentioned he'll be working on it when he gets back from out of town. Figure with the new source, ill wait for a newer build once Imo has more time to tinker.

You guys still on old aosp? Yikes. 5.0 is rock solid on my sense rom. What's the attraction of an aosp rom these days?

Huh? The same attraction there has always been

This post wreaks of trolling and I don't understand it. If I was a mod I would delete it in all honesty. Mind explaining?

You know you can just wipe caches and flash your old kernel? No need to nandroid when switching between kernels

Yeah, but I figured since something was broke I'd just use the nandroid I had just made. It was just sitting on the bar while I ate breakfast anyway so the time did not matter.

Edit: I think I will just wait for the release to settle...gonna be busier this week.
