Root [Kernel][AOSP] Imoseyon LeanKernel 5.0.3

Huh? The same attraction there has always been

This post wreaks of trolling and I don't understand it. If I was a mod I would delete it in all honesty. Mind explaining?
No not at all. Perhaps a little lighthearted fun but a serious question nonetheless. You know I've been on aosp since before you guys with the original version of cm7 for the DI. But think about what I'm saying and not go off the rails on me. AOSP for the TB is not the same as it is for every other mainlined phone. There has always been an issue or 2 or 3 or 4 that we had to work around. Agreed? I mean even if you need a gps lock you need to flash a sense rom. That is absurd at this point.

I originally flashed cm7 to get rid of bloat, streamline the os, and get better battery life. With aosp for the TB I get none of those that I don't get with a good sense 3.0 or 3.5 rom. And you know what? Everything works and I get better batt life. So the question is valid.. what do you get with aosp that you can't get with sense 3.0?

Yes, it was a little tongue in cheek, figured you guys could handle it from me. I apologize that I offended you, I meant no harm. I really see no reason for a mod to delete the post but it's not my call.

start your own thread and I'm sure many of us will be glad to answer but this is a kernel thread.

Do you really think that is warranted? I don't. I think the point got lost in the rhetoric. Just let it drop and we can all go along our merry way.

I mean I see what you're saying, but to bring it up in an AOSP Kernel thread was a little bizarre. Especially considering you've run AOSP. That's the only reason I thought you were trolling. Didn't mean to offend you, the comment just struck me as out of left field

Yeah it was, but you guys are a tough crowd nonetheless. ;) That being said, (I'm starting to hate that phrase) I'm back on aosp this morning. The kernel bundled is Imo's 4.2.0. Is that the latest stable or ya gonna make me go to Rootz to search? I'd love to try out his 5.0 since I don't use BT often. Anyone using that?

I found that when you clear cache and dalvik that it takes some time to build them back up and battery life suffers for a bit. I usually try not to wipe anything when switching kernels but if something goes awry then I will.

Gave it a flash too.

Definitely seems more polished than 5.0.0.. which ran hot and it was noticeable immediately. Waiting on the discharge portion of calibration, so very early, bit its all good in the hood so far. Except I'm white and live in the suburbs..

Regardless, I'm happy.

Flashing now
Hope you did it without a wipe of cache/dalvik. When I first loaded it I thought the indicator was broken since it didn't drain hardly at all. But I flashed a new rom and had to wipe everything so I'm building cache again today. Trying to get some quick drain and running through all the menus too. I'll know more on how it works for me a little later today.

I wiped cache but it is draining, I needed to wipe because I was draining way to fast anyways. I think a state wipe may be needed

I never do, but others wipe batt stats. According to Imo you might need to wipe dalvik if your wifi doesn't work. Other than that just flash it without wiping anything.

If you are coming from tiamat or a non-imo kernel I would wipe cache and dalvik regardless of what imo says. You may be able to flash it over a older imo kernel with no issues however. I always wipe regardless, usually I don't wipe bat stats

I seem to be getting really good battery life. I had to leave my phone on airplane mode last night and the battery did not drain at all over 8 hours. 37% when I went to bed and 37% when I woke up. Is this normal for airplane mode?
