Root [KERNEL][AOSP&SENSE] - Superior Battery Charging. +4.18V off the charger!

I'd love to give this kernel a try, but i have yet to be able to run any kernel other than HTC. I've tried several netarchy's and 2 King's but they all screw up the display (pixelated intermittent lines) as well as give a ripple effect/tear when scrolling. I've always made sure to wipe dalvik/cache when flashing, but they all give the same result :( This has happened on both Myn's 3/4.

I use CM6 and grabbed the version of this kernel designed for that. I'm not getting super great battery life like what some of you are reporting, but it's a bit better. I personally think that I have a bad battery (physically) and need to just get another one...has anyone been using the Seidio 3500mHa battery with this and having good results? Who is using stock and still getting the battery life that is being reported?

I gave the SBC kernel another try (using na 4.2.1. cfs more havs.....for some reason the more havs isn't messing with my phone like it did the last time I tried na's more havs kernel), I have 23 hours, 55 min. unplugged with 46% left in battery with above moderate usage.....I have a stock battery btw.

using the 131 build. this thing is the real deal and ive been waiting since launch day for this kernel. on top of fresh3.5.0.1, im lovin my evo again, just awesome.

im not impressed with the cm6 specific kernel. it looked promising at the beginning, but once i used my phone for calls, 3g web surfing, and some pics, it failed. :(

EDIT: to mention i have a 2 month old seido 1750 battery

Have u tried the no havs versions of netarchy kernels? I had the same issue til I switched to no havs. So far with the sbc kernel I haven't had any screen issues even though it has havs.

Great looking rott!

hrm...these phones are soooo funny.

so far no real benefit on my phone. battery life is no better than it was before and the phone keeps locking up/won't wake from sleep.

switching back to my last kernel

pretty good results just after flashing SBC AOSP 4.1.9.1

i put this on the wall charger around 345am last night. i did the old shut down, plug in/out trick this morning. cleared battery states. now its charging via usb until i see the battery widget read 0 mA's. will update through out the day.

Can we keep this thread clear of how to flash a kernel, can we please stop posting a thousand screen cap pictures, its annoying as all hell...

Now, I tried 1.7. Cleared cache all the good stuff. I charged to full, take it off of the charger and 5 minutes later I am at 88%. I have all radios off, 3g on (not enhanced). Is it just a hit n miss with these, should I just keep flashing all of the different ones until I find one that does what it is supposed to on my phone? I am using myns most current. I dont understand why one setup work on one phone with same mod but not on the other. Would love for some educated chime ins on this. Thanks for the info in advance and Merry Christmas !!

My phone acted as poorly as it ever has with the 131 version of this kernel. I left it on a charger overnight (light was on when I went to bed) and the battery drained completely. I had to pull the battery, put it back in, then plug back in to a charger. I had another instance where the last 12% of the battery drained in a matter of minutes (with me doing NOTHING). I thought my phone was bricked at one point because I couldn't even get it to start charging. I went back to the HTC #17 kernel right away. It is worth noting that I had used Titanium to freeze SetCPU so as not to cause any issues.

Those using Myn's RLS4 and this kernel. Which version are you using that seems to have the most success?

i have been called a liar by some when i have stated battery life. i now post screen shots so that i cover my a$$. im sorry you get annoyed by it. may you have a merry christmas anyway.

i'm a half hour off the charger. sent 1 text and missed one call, no other activity and I'm down to 96% already.... :( all this miracle stuff never works for me. where's my christmas battery miracle!

that being said, it's better than normal... but we'll see how the rest of the battery life fairs. at this rate i'll probably get the same juice out of it as my last few kernels.

i'm using 4.1.9.1 more aggressive v7 and cakulin's evio 2 1.7 rom.

dropped 2 more % just sending another text. WHY does my phone do this? :( it's really frustrating. 1more % drop just while typing this sentence while my phone sits there doing nothing.

If you haven't already, try the rest of the SBC kernels.

How long was it at 100% before you unplugged it? And are you using the phone while plugged in after it hits 100%?

it was at 100% for 10-11 hrs. i started charging it and it got to 100 before i even went to bed and i unplugged it when i woke up in the morning. before bed i was using it a bit plugged in but then it had at least 8 hrs of being untouched and charging at 100%.

yea i think i will try one of the 4.2.1 based kernels... i have little hope though. my battery always sucks no matter what rom/kernel and no matter how little i touch my phone. and if i touch it it punishes me with massive battery drops. sometimes it will drop 2-4% for a single text.

Let us know how it goes w/ the other kernels! Good luck! ;)

Well the DEV of the SBC kernel says avoid using your phone after it hits 100% because for some reason after it hits 100% and your using it, the charger can automatically turn off. If you have not done so yet, download the battery monitor widget and look at the history once it hits 100%. If its plugged in and you see -ma's then its not trickle charging.

There is nothing to "cover you ass" from. This is an internet forum and you have nothing at stake. I'm sorry you get so worked up because someone on the internet called you a liar.

I get posting a screenshot here and there, but do you honestly think that every single one of the pictures that you posted was necessary? Even the second picture of your charging stats was redundant. What did we get from the second picture that we didn't get from the first?

This thread is no longer worth trying to read from my phone given how many pictures you have to scroll through.

For all of the other users, don't quote EVERY SINGLE picture just to make a response. Hell, "stevcha" quoted 9 pictures just to say that he liked the picture of the dog. Talking about unnecessary.
