Root [KERNEL] Plague Overclock Kernel for LG Esteem MS910 - UPDATED!

Hay playful god just wondering when making the oc kernel did you try to test over the 1.7ghz or make a higher kernel :-)

okay yea i got it. so how do i move plagues kernal into my sd card?

If you downloaded the kernal from your computer. Just plug the phone and set the usb connection as "USB storage". Then you copy and paste the kernel.zip to your external sd folder. After that you go into recovery (cwr) and flash the zip from sd card , then look for the file and choose the kernal.zip and flash !. And that's about it...

Note: I just simply downloaded from my phone and installed from there. No need to go to the pc.

Im at 1.7 and battery life hasnt changed. Still have around 30% left after running Pandora on 4g most of the day.

ok now check this out!!!!!

i used your Plague-Kernel and it is great! oc at 1.7 and used auto killer memery manager for the memory. my phone was runing like a champ! life was sweet.
but then i hooked up hdmi and it would not detect that the cable was plugged in!
and also, i uploaded a pic to facebook and in my phone it repeated the upload 3 times!
and when i checked my facebook page i had 3 of the same pic uploaded!

so i did some reading and saw the lg esteem stock firmware called ''stock zvb rom'' or ''stockzvbrom'' so i tried that one and it worked fine. but when i connected my hdmi cable to my tv, this time my tv saw my phone on the channel! but my phone still did not ''see'' the hdmi cable!!! i was soo mad!!!!!

but my ray of hope! at this point i didnt know if it was the Plague-Kernel doing this or the rom or what! im sort of a newbe. but luckly i bought my wife the exact same phone!
so i rooted herphone with cwm, i backed up her phone and i copyed the backup into my sd card. then i used cwm on my phone to install the backup from her phone!
and that worked! my hdmi is fixed and i nolonger have duplicate pics uploading and eating my memory!

so the Plague-Kernel and the StockZVBRom both have problems with the hdmi and the uploading abilitys. if anyone needs the real ''ms910zvb'' sw with the kernel version ''2.6.35.7-perf lg-electronics@lgearnd3u5 #5'' im going to upload it here.
use cwm to install it as a backup, put it in the sd/cwm/backup folder

I hope to Overclock my Rooted LG Esteem to 1.7ghz. I understand how to install the Kernal from the CWM Recovery Mode. I am hesitant to overclock because I do not want to loose battery life. FYI I have an Extended Battery. Before I take a chance on overclocking, can anyone explain to me how I would go about removing the Overclocking kernal if I run into any issues? Any help would be appreciated

if by any chance you are concerned about the battery life because of the overclock, with any Cpu "app" you can simply set the Clock frequency back to stock which is capped @ 1024 Mhz. So there is no need, really, in getting rid of the kernal now that it only allows the phone to be overclocked...

otherwise, if you really want to go back to stock, you can take a look here;

You guys are making me jealous. I foolishing installed the ZVC update and am hesitant about downgrading back to ZVB since the only thread I can find about downgrading doesn't have anyone confirming that method to work.

There are several people in that thread who have confirmed it working.

man, now i know why it takes so long lol... I'm just syncing the sources to my hefty linux box over a 30Mbit internet connection and it's been taking HOURS lol...
30 Mbps internet connection:confused: NASA doesn't have that speed.
which company and how much you pay? i would love to sign in.

Are there anybody else having a problem with their 4g connections not showing up but only having 3g

OK. I still find that realllly hard to believe. ? How in the world is that possible ?

Uhhm. Many cables comapny provide those connection. I.e; fios, time Warner , optimum , Comcast . Etc.

I have a 30mbps connection

I can confirm the battery life has not change, if so maybe by only a few % (2-4%) decrease.

This is on an extended battery and the original battery, I also recalibrated by battery img file as well after cmw and new kernel install. maybe that helped idk. (I always recalibrate after any rom/kernel/recovery installs)

Try searching in the market for Battery Calibration.

1. Fully charge the battery
2. Open the app that supports wiping the battery img file
3. Unplug the charger
4. Let the phone go completely dead before pluging it back in to a charger or computer via usb.

See if that helps, if anyone is having any extra battery drains.

:)

you can get 15, 20, 30, 60, and even 80M if you're willing to pay for it. I've had 30M

Comcast in Miami FL as from like 6mbps to around 100mbps. Mine costs about $60 a month, i download at 2-3MB/s. Sorry, mine was 30mbps not 36. lol Still fast enough to get a 720p blueray rip in a few hours.

Did you turn it on under Settings\Connectivity? Even if you plug in the cable, it won't work without that checked on. It's not like the usb cable.

Do this kernel change the amount of RAM because my phone is only saying like around 370 when it says 512 of RAM on the box what is wrong please explain

No RAM is hardware not "software"

The phone has 512mb. 142mb of it is used by the system/phone leaving 370 for the user.

I installed the CWM recovery as directed, did a backup, and then flashed the Plague kernel. My phone is much more responsive now with no appreciable difference in battery life. Thanks again to all the devs working on this! As soon as I recover financially from the holidays, I'll be making a donation

As a tester I accept donations also. That GTO will suffice. PM me to meet up for the keys! :D
