I like to keep it simple, nothing too flashy. I go back and forth between the sense interface and launcher pro

Hey guys, I just got my Evo a week ago or so and I thought that I knew a lot about customizing things because I customized my ipod touch, then an iphone.... but now I am completely lost. I have read at least 60 pages of this thread and tried to take in all of the information but I still have no idea what I am doing. I got Beautiful Widgets and File Organizer Lite as well as ADW and LauncherPro. I also know how to get LockBot Pro, I just wasn't sure if it was necessary. Pretty much what I am looking to do is get a lock screen like the one below, and a homepage widget like the one on the right. I then would like to have toggles like the ones in the bottom quoted picture. Last but not least I would like to use these icons:

New Set of Dark Passion Icons | xda-developers

I couldn't figure out how to get text widgets and scaled down toggles in Beautiful Widgets and when I tried to change the icons for apps in file organizer I couldn't seem to get that to work either.

Also, another question... whenever I would load Launcher Pro or ADW, the lock screen wallpaper would be slightly moved from the position of the homepage wallpaper so unlocking the phone would cause it to shift positions. Not sure why that was happening.

I'm sorry for all of the questions. I have been trying to read through and learn everything but it seems to be lots of finished products and very few instructions on how to get there. If anyone can link me to a tutorial on how to accomplish all of these things or a beginner's guide or even private message me and help me that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys!

Ok I added a weather widget and thought it looked pretty cool with the spacing on the couch.

^^^Using wideget locker for the lock screen .... allow the placement of widgets on the lockscreen.

the clock widget is -->[APP][24/10] TypoClock - typographic time/date widget [W/H/QVGA][0.41] - xda-developers

any other questions, feel free to ask.

Alright... I have a few more questions. First, since you have a custom dock I assume that means you are using LauncherPro. Do you use LauncherPro Plus, and what are the benefits? Second, where do you find most of the widgets you use? Third, I'm still confused on how I am supposed to install custom icons. Fourth, are the custom locks on the lockscreen from LockBot Pro or what exactly? Fifth, what is the best resolution for wallpapers? In some threads it says 960 x 800 but that doesn't seem to be what yours are.

Sorry again for my confusion. If there is a good tutorial you could link me to that would save you a lot of time lol.

a lot of my stuff i just googled. the custom dock is used w/ launcher pro. I will attach it if you want it. the only 3 widgets you see there are typoclock on the main screen, battstatt on the lockscreen and dclock widget on the lockscreen. LP allows you to set custom shortcuts and icons on the dock by long pressing. Just copy the icons to a folder on your sd and point LP in the direction. The lock screen is widget locker, available in the marketplace. Allows multiple sliders and widgets to be placed on the lockscreen. Wallpaper res is 960*800 if you want to use the full paper. Any size will work, you just adjust the wallpaper slider to fit the image you want to use. The lock screen for example is a 480*800 cutout from a 960*800 image. When you use widgetlocker you can choose the paper for the lock screen and then center the image you want to use.
