LG G3 Pre-release/Rumor/Speculation Thread

Does anyone else feel like the G3 is already tainted from all of this confusion and disappointment? I'm hanging in there, but it feels ugggy. And I do have to admit that I have the corner of my eye open to other possibilities that I didn't when they first announced this phone including the dreaded iphone 5.5". :hmmmm2:

Agreed. I think the adv execs in LG are probably peeved.

They read wrong. Until T-Mobile changes it, it is certainly 2/32. I wouldn't be surprised if all US carriers get this one.

That would be an all new offering then since the only reported options I've seen thus far were 2/16 or 3/32. I think somebody is getting wires crossed but never know I guess.

Is anyone also considering the S5 Prime? I keep expecting some news about it, and if the news is especially good it could cause me to delay the decision.

Absolutely, although no one can seem to figure if it will actually exist and when.

Some are saying it was the recent Korean release, but others are still holding out for some potential model to battle the new iPhones. I'd certainly put it head to head with a G3 purchase if I knew more about it.

Another T-Mobile cut & paste job, just as they did w/the G-FLEX,which,until opening day,had an SD Card slot listed in the specs (no SD Card slot,BTW).

Count on it being 2/16 & the $598 price point.

I hope I'm wrong,as I could also live with 2/32,no problem.

Glad I stumbled across an LG OPTIMUS G PRO last week for $60,very similar to this now & in some ways better (capacitive buttons & remappable auxillary [camera] button).

LG clearly stated 2/16 and 3/32. The $598 would appear to be a 2/16 model, but Tmo tweeted 3/32 some time ago. What an apparent $crew up here, unless THIS is the "exclusive"..... Nah.

Please keep in mind most consumers are oblivious to the news churn, or lack of- unless a forum dweller. For the most part, no harm no foul to the carriers.

Just chatted with a TMO rep and they verified 2/32. So either they're getting bad info on their spec sheet or there is in fact a 2/32 model on the table now as well.

I guess nothing surprises anymore. I'm still betting error but nothing shocks me at this point. It'll work itself out by the end of the day if it's incorrect I'd think.

I'm very frustrated, but I know myself well enough to know that if the phone delivers what I expect it to, I'll pretty quickly forget how frustrating this has been. So close now..........

I still blame top level LG exec's for this kind of disjointed launch.

Especially since they mentioned nothing about a 2/32 as an option at their launch event.

The Note 3 is looking even better now- if wanted something right now.

Agreed. or the m8

If the M8 did not waste the space below the display and used capacitive buttons instead of display ones, I would be close to agreeing on the M8. Well, that and the lack of battery replacement options.

Irony alert!

Would it not be ironic if Tmo tweeted wrong and all along their "exclusive" is a 2/32 model, but Verizon (as example) offers a 3/32 on line to order?

It would be. A big stretch perhaps, but WOULD be ironic.

BTW, the "Verizon" person I linked might be misinformed, since I had a corporate store check the same data they all see and NO sign of a G3 of any type yet.

Update: The poster says he is not misinformed and does have a solid post history.

I have asked the source to elaborate in lieu of anyone to corroborate.

Where did you see this information? I know that the Verizon POS system for corporate stores lists nothing yet about any G3 model and franchise stores use a modified version of POS and get even less information than corporate stores. The only other way you would know is if you have access to supply chain information and that would normally be an actual staff member at Verizon corporate HQ.

Not saying you are making this up, but you are literally the only one in the wild web saying this and nobody yet corroborates the same thing.

Thanks

Update: The poster is sticking with his info and says it is not POS sourced. His posting history is solid. I guess I should have looked there first......

LG could clear this right on up if they wanted to. It almost seems like the carriers have LG over a barrel so to speak. They should have announced all the relative specs and carrier specs etc, right up front.

Agreed. or the m8

Webster: M8itus. A disease, primarily in the mind, which causes irritation, nervousness and lower bowel discomfort. Occurs primarily on Friday nights, and peaks during the weekend, when the Verizon store is open. Muscular fatigue, and cramping in the biceps is common, when lifting the device repeatedly. Carpal syndrome can occur from frequent use. Loss of hearing from the device speakers playing too loudly is common. Some patients(EM) have had success by putting an unrecognizable case, which looks like a transformer, on it.

Please post this notice in all Music teacher locations.

What is going on, this totally is not making sense anymore. This is surely amusing in all aspects.

Yep:

1. LG announces 2/16 and 3/32 only with no mention of others

2. Tmo tweets they are getting the 3/32 model

3. Tmo apparently touts some exclusivity, which is at first assumed a 805 model, but settles to the 3/32.

4. Tmo apparently selling a 2/32 which IS exclusive, but not in the way normally expected. The 2/32 is apparently confirmed by Tmo..... Apparently.

Now Best Buy dude says he did not say "3/32", but a 32GB with temporary exclusivity. That is not how I remember it and again kind of demeans the premise of product "exclusivity".

Folks have called and went into stores today and confirm 2GB ram 32GB internal. Then again, they are probably referencing the same thing we have seen, so IF the spec sheet is wrong- so are they. If still 2/32 this evening, it probably is what it is.

Update:

Customer care apparently now saying it is 3/32. That $598 is an awful good retail price for that if correct. Sad we have still doubt even with official publishing due to the contradiction.

Wait, I am on Verizon.... Never mind! ;)
