Interesting. I've used only Dolphin for years but THEY have started sacking, imo. The swipe for bookmarks doesn't work as well anymore(which is Dolphin's best feature). Used to open Dolphin, swipe, go to bookmark. Now I open Dolphin, swipe, then swipe again(and sometimes again), then go to bookmark. Started making me mad after years of being great, so I tested Dolphin against Chrome. EVERY PAGE I WOULD GO TO LOADED FASTER ON CHROME. Every single one. So I switched.

My mileage is exactly the opposite.

It may be a compatibility issue with your phone or configuration during Dolphin updates.

Me too. While chrome was a little faster, dolphin (especially with flash) has been more reliable for me. There was a split second that they did something that changed the swype for bookmarks, but one of the updates fixed it.

For a little while, I had to use Firefox for flash, but one dolphin re-instated flash, it was no brainer for me to go back to dolphin.

I almost pulled the trigger on an m8 today.

Horseshoes? Hand grenades? Almost?

You'd hate it.

Everything would work, it would look and sound great, the camera would be about a hundred times better than the GNex and a thousand over the DX, you'd fall asleep waiting for the battery to die, you'd end up installing ViperOneM8 and go back to actually enjoying the phone and cool apps instead of the flashing.

It'll be a living hell. Don't do it.

And most of all, baby got bezel :)

Get the M8 and get it over with!

I do the same thing with every purchase I make. I think about it for days and weeks trying to talk myself out of it. Just like I did with my 4K/3D tv and what I'm doing right now with which handgun I want to purchase.

I say, everyone who's jumping off the bandwagon are quitters...but you're all still here in this thread...LOL.

Quite honestly, it's much more difficult to select a device nowadays, as compared to even a couple years ago. A couple years ago, most of the specs could be argued, but mobile tech has gotten to the point that all the flagship superphones are quite valid choices and there's really no way to determine which is "best" for each individual.

One thing's for sure, at least Android owners have the option of different choices, unlike another monster company...hahaha

Then aren't we the truest posters of all? Our relationship is unrequited, yet still post ;) Powerful stuff. That, or we are trolls.....

Yeah...and whatever Sprint paid for being gold-exclusive: D

I don't think Legere would pay substantial amount, especially when merger talks are going.

Oh well. What do I know? Just speculating.

Until the merger is approved, it's business as usual. Paying for an exclusive on T-Mobile's end is not really as much a risk, as they aren't investing money into it. They're being purchased by SoftBank, not vice versa. In addition to that, they're guaranteed 2 billion, if the merger isn't approved. They're really in a win win situation, so I don't think there' s any better time for them to pay for an exclusive than now. How much that is, all depends on what LG felt was necessary.

For any OEM to offer "exclusives" to a provider, there has to be extra money involved. Much like Verizon pays for exclusivity on the "Droid" line (which, realistically, they're paying double for just to license the term Droid from George Lucas...or maybe, now it's Disney).

Sprint likely paid for the exclusive on the Gold as well, but that likely wouldn't cost near the amount that an exclusive of a higher memory version would be.

Sometimes it happend to me too, swiping to bookmark not smooth in Dolphin. But nowhere near that bad. It works fine most of time.

I like Dolphin too but I recently found Next browser and like it even more. Very smooth and light with just enough feature set. Swiping from left brings up multi tab management instead of bookmark. If you don't like Dolphin, give next browser try.

And most of all, baby got bezel :)

Yep. :)

If you're into the zero bezel thing, cool.

I'm just not. More like take it or leave it.

Fitting bigger screen into good package size for me? Perfect. After all, I was eyeballing the G2 above the M8 before this circus started.

But I think that the zero bezel movement is getting out of hand too. Example - my armored case covers a lot of the side bezels but not so much that I can't get down past it to touch the edge of the screen easily.

So when I decided to pull the trigger on what I was denying that I wanted - Boomsound - the bezels were just no big deal. I got bezels and Boomsound. Smaller screen than the G2. Better processor and SD card. Yadda yadda yadda.

Choices. I love choices. Wish I had more. I've learned to live with disappointment. :D

FWIW, I was in a Verizon store today and asked about the G3. Rep said they will carry the 16/2 in store and the 32/3 online. He seemed pretty sure of himself as he said it. I didn't push him too hard, but he appeared to know what he was talking about.

We'll see........

Lol, sure.

I was at the Verizon Store today. I was seriously going to pull the trigger. I happened to draw a salesman who is or was a developer at XDA. To make a long story short, he told me that I could transfer my upgrade to another phone, buy an upgrade and just put my sim card in the new phone. This way I keep my unlimited. I chatted with Early, who was very helpful in bringing me up to speed on the root process of the M8 and the salesman showed me how to put off the upgrade patch which would lock the bootloader. Thank you, Early. :)

He also said there will be a sale on the devices next week, so I should hold off. I have his card, in a place of honor, in my wallet!

I prefer less bezel too :)

Lol, sure.
That at least fits what they did with the S4 after Att temporary exclusivity expired. Samsung apparently never offered the S5 in bigger models to carriers, which makes Samsung touting a 32gb and even a 64gb model all the more disingenuous.

Added:

FWIW, here is a post from an apparent VZW corporate store employee and would be very easy to verify, since Verizon uses the same point of sale at all corporate stores. Franchise stores are different.

The 32gb version is in our (Verizon) system. This means there's a 90% chance Verizon will get that version. I say 90%, because there's always a possibility it could be online only.

Hope this helps!

Looking around for a G PRO2 that would work on T-MOBILE's LTE & stumbled across a G PRO on AMAZON for $60,listed in used/very good condition & sold directly by AMAZON Warehouse Deals.
A 5.5" 1080 Display/Removable battery/2GB-32GB expandable memory,sounds good to me,I snatched it up,should be here Saturday. :)
Found the APN Settings to get this to work on T-MO's LTE,so,I might pass on the G3,for now anyway.........
Should be back in stock at this price tomorrow (6/27/14):

Amazon.com: LG Optimus G Pro, Black 32GB (AT&T): Cell Phones & Accessories
EDIT:
Looks like the $60 price is gone (less than an hour after posting this),anyone else here snatch one up at this price?
total bummer :( i was gonna order on tomorrow im running a htc evo v (3d) i will have to keep and eye out
Great deal. I would get it too. Too late for me.
Congrats, kamrad!

Just finished initial set-up & SIM Unlocking (going from AT&T to T-MOBILE):

YMMV,depending on network upgrades (my area is modernized/converted to 4G/LTE).
I'm happy to report that T-MO's 4G LTE is up & running. :)

Now,to find a stable ROM....................... :D

Wait, wait, wait. I've been using my non-unlimited lines to upgrade my unlimited line forever. But you're saying I could actually use the upgrade FROM my unlimited line to upgrade my unlimited line, by transferring the upgrade to another line? I hope I'm wrong, but I think that particular maneuver cancels the unlimited. I don't think you can use the unlimited line's upgrade in any way and keep unlimited. Now please convince me I am wrong, as this would be a third avenue for me to upgrade my line.

Good analysis. I just wanted to give a green leaf of hope to my kamrades here who are stuck with the VZW and Sprint monsters :D

The timing of the tmo release is perfect for me. I am traveling across Scandinavia, when I get back, G3 will be there :D
I use F6, which is awesome in terms of price/ performance, Sammy tab 3 and x920.

Let me draw this out.

I have 4 phones on a family plan.

Phones 1 and 2 were upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S5 and were reduced to the Loyalty Max data plan (6 gb each).

Phone 3 was upgraded to the SG5 but RETAINED its unlimited because the telephone CSR made a mistake and never changed it. :) :) :)

Phone 4 is mine. I am out of contract (month to month).

Here's what the salesman told me to do. Transfer my upgrade to either phones 1 or 2 (loyalty max). Purchase a phone at the 2 year upgrade price. THEN take MY Phone #4's sim card and activate the NEW upgrade phone with the old Phone #4's sim card. He said it retains unlimited. :) He said he does it all the time.

The next time I worry about my next cellphone, I need to remember back to what I used to have. Enjoy!

Really hope this is the case with AT&T also. They have done this in the past with stocking the cheeper varient in store and higher versions being online order only.

I'm crossing my fingers

We'll see........

That'll work, there's often an online discount so I've bought my last 2 phones that way. Saved $50 both times.

Edit: actually it was $60 on the G2.
