With T-Mobile releasing a 3/32 version of the G3 for 599 what are the other carriers going to charge for a 2/16 version ?
Sucks that probably 95% of the population will not even notice which will allow the others to charge the same for the 2/16 version..
I am stuck with Big Red (coverage) so this could be a difference maker for me.
I am siding with Rushmore in thinking that big red will have the 2/16 only. Guess we find out next week. Hopefully
I don't know for sure, depends on the situation. Check stock recovery options and see if there's an adb sideload or update type of option.
Does ATT have a software update utility you could potentially use from your PC?
Anybody had success with LG Mobile Support tool on your device for the purpose of manual updates?
edit: check this. looks like stock KK for the e980:
[Stock] LG G Pro Stock Firmware .KDZ files (All version) - xda-developers
Not sure if that's going to be a kdz or not. Downloading now to check.
edit 2: it's the tot. Good, now just need to find the dll.
edit3: and boom, here's the dll... [TOT] LGE980 ATT Optimus G PRO Factory tot IMAGE [lgnpst] - xda-developers
So you should be able to use the new KK tot from the first link along with the dll from the older link. Flash via LG Flash tools and profit.
But you already IMO had the bestest device in the world with the Note 3. Nice display, good battery life, performance and no Qhd related issues. Well, that is if you don't want a one hand use device. Kind of awkward unless you have meaty paws. Still, going from a 5.7" display to a display with a nav bar taking space on a 5" device is a profound change. My guess you are not a video or gaming fan. Cropped or zoomed photo user either perhaps.
Added: Mainly a music fan?
The biggest reason for the N3 departure was the size for me.
Was kind of afraid of this.
LG G3 Prime with Snapdragon 805 gets Bluetooth certified - GSMArena.com news
May be Korea only. Maybe it'll still hit the shores later.
I think they're going toe-to-toe w/SAMSUNG on their home turf & will only possibly release this far down the road, when sales of the current crop of G3's drops off,& have something to fill-in until the 2015 Flagship season.
Either that,or,it's an ANDROID SILVER device.................
Interesting you should mention that theory. I said almost those same words in another thread several days back.
I have a G2 and really like it. Battery never dies on me. I lusted after the G3, but now I think I will wait until September and fondle the Ip6 and see what the G3 Prime status is. Would be nuts if I got a G3 now and in Sept or Oct, the G3 Prime came out.

Count my words, LG prime could be one of the tmo exclusive.I do not see how this stays in Korea. The new iPhones are the real deal as far as a bigger step change and Google's Kitkat and 5.0 changes are making them more Apple than "Android" as each update progresses.
Seems little strategic doubt LG and Samsung (at least) will have primes and the Note 4 to combat Apple. If they do not, they would lose some of the share they gained. Sure iTune ball and chain sucks, but their app ecosystem is still better than Android. Much less fragmentation of devices verses apps as well, and they now will have devices in sizes the mean of the masses have shifted to.
I think later summer/early fall will be "prime time" out of necessity.
Added:
It will be interesting to see how much the 805 helps with Qhd beyond performance. Battery and heat should still be the main issues, pending a newer less resistance display technology to mitigate heat and reduce power consumption.

I don't have an issue with the whole Prime concept, but rather, the way it's being handled. If there's a G3 and a G3+ then offer them both at the same time at different price points. User choice, that's a fine thing.
But don't release and advertise the G3, get everyone onboard and then shroud the prime in mystery, leaving everyone to guess if it's even an option for them or not. Then end up releasing it a few months later.

12 words. I count 12 words.
Does everyone concur?
I find out that Quallcomm can supply me with enough 805 processors to allow worldwide distribution in quantity on Oct 1. I offer an upgrade to all purchasers of the original G3 for $50. Applesque goodwill abounds. My company's reputation is greatly enhanced. I sell lots and lots of G3 Primes. I hire an additional advertising person.
I have come to grips that the Spring phone season is over and Fall will show us the next big thing. This helps me be more patient. Of course, there's always the M8?
