US$50 million?

I don't believe that they went that far, do you?

I'd think a stunt like that (artificially inflating sales figures) would have the opposite intended effect, making themselves look petty/conniving/dishonest/etc...

But,lots of money & perceived intelligence doesn't always result in wise decision making.

who cares.

if they really want to dethrone Gnusmag, it is a small price to pay, and definitely wayyy smarter than to put the freaking banner on Piazza Di San Marco, pay for this placement enormously and forever alienate people like me.

..or put Gnusmag ads on every bus stop.

I can only imagine what the great city of San Francisco charged them.

If they would subsidize their freaking phones with this money instead, it would be better for us, the consumers, and for them.

But it was said long ago that nobody ever got broke by underestimating the intelligence of the American public. :D

Well, I have none, but I was just trying to copy some websites that want to get hits!!!.....but, I have a sneaking feeling that we might actually get some information that is real regarding the US release this week. It is around the time it should drop. There is a post about the G3 beating the S5 in another battery test. It does look like the G3 will have very close to the same endurance as the G2.

Would be nice to know their test script. Depends on the test set-up and how the gpu is leveraged in the test and what content, radios etc. Everything is more relative to the user.

Test it yourself to get a more practical assessment :)

See with all these inconsistency is best to test the battery at your own manner. Then you'll would really know how long it'll last you. Heck even the g2 for many ppl their use battery time is different so the result of one person may not always reflect what result you looking for.. M

30% longer than the G2 in that test.

Gimme the end result that you want, and I'll give you the test scripts to prove it :D

I lay odds in favor we still hear zip out of the other carriers (-Tmo) this week for when and what model and whatever the case, VZW will be last.

I think u r right.

I'd put my money on June 30 or July 1.

Not even going to put the order right away since I'll be out of the country.

All the reviews so far have been the Korean model. This could suggest we are still at least several weeks from a US retail launch. There was an apparent unboxing of a Tmo model, but reviews so far that I have seen are the model sold in Asia.

I heard rumors they might come up with a surprise of their own cpu. And yes just like tmobile, they are labeling the phone now as beta...

r u saying that they will ship in the US/UK/Europe the unit with their own CPU rather than 801 they ship in Korea?

I kind of doubt it.

A newer display res and mass production can typically have higher than normal fallout. QC sampling does not catch all the bad and especially if on the threshold from good and bad.

Would not be surprised to find some folks with display issues as a result. It is amazing really it does not happen as much as it could.
