Interesting... 6.30 hours sot with full brightness and watching video.

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Firs...ery-life-tests-show-promising-results_id56590

On WiFi with no SIM card (and probably with a bunch of other stuff turned off and no apps in the background). Can probably get similar results or arguably better with current flagship on the market. No one uses their phone like that unless they're on an airplane mid flight.

Not that I take any of those battery tests seriously.

The unlimited everything plan I was on for the past several years is no longer available, its either framily or I think its called my all in now. Its looking like its actually cheaper, but my account holder is multiple states away and they must be present at time of upgrade

Edit:

Order online or through telesales. You could also have the account holder temporarily change the account address to yours, then order online. I'm on SERO and can still order this way without changing my plan, so I'm not sure why this method wouldn't work for you.

PS - If you do use this method, it'll initially mention that you need to change your plan, but on the next page it'll change to "no need to change your plan" or something similar.

You have your 14 days return window, even with your evil Verizon, no?

Should be quite enough to make a decision.

But with the removable battery it doesn't matter much anyway. Get a spare or two, you'll be fine. More money, I know.

I did say I would test before committing. If a 3/32 is offered.

We should get some real world feedback from our friends in Korea on the battery before we'll have it hitting the shelves here no? I think we're talking the same battery this time where last time their model varied.

I don't think that 6h talk time on phonearena is official or anyone's test result. They tend to just throw out numbers like that too fast. GSMarena is usually good at reporting talk, browsing, video times but they have not done it yet.

It should be coming soon from many sources.

One of the gang asked me to come back and hangout, and I will, so long as nothing I say is taken as saying anything bad about the phone, because I don't have a dog in this fight.

I still reserve the right to make fun of anyone's marketing if I see them screwing up.

My personal phone two years ago.

Good 3G signal, 8 hours of mostly web video by wifi, only things off are the power wasters I always leave off - Bluetooth, NFC, and location services.

Plenty of apps up running in the background, stock, pre-root and no other babysitting.

I found that was a good indicator of my performance to come.

Web videos are a decent test because they're multi-theaded and drive the screen a lot. Just like most of what you'll do.

I found the secret to good life is not having apps that misbehave.

When the screen is off, the phone ought to go asleep and not waste power. If it's not wasting power screen off, it won't waste it with the screen on.

PS to Rx - take the plan change. I went from unlimited everything at $109 with the $10 add-on to that all-in plan (not framily) and I'm getting the same flat rate deal as before, just for less money.

I'd be disappointed if only 16/2 is offered on Sprint, but since it won't be my primary, it'll suffice. If it were my primary upgrade... well, it wouldn't be... hahaha

You were on WiFi the whole time. I'm going out of town this weekend and if I have WiFi 10% of the time I'm Lucky, cause I'll be constantly on the move and since it's a vacation I'll be using my phone a lot.

I fully expect it to last, but my phone isn't driving that screen or a laser emitter when the camera is being operated, among other things.

You were on WiFi the whole time.

Yep and with a good 3G signal - so it forms a best-case baseline.

If 3G degrades, or no wifi, or both, battery life goes down. Season with 4G as available.

As you gain experience with your phone, you can begin to accurately predict your expectations - if you know your baseline.

Hope this helps. :)

Have a great vacation!

I agree with what you said. Just need more reviews to get an idea how this one performs under real world use.

ok, so i did a search for the sprint ls990 and I found this article back in April. I am holding out hope that Sprint offers both 16/2 amd 32/3, baaed on the march and april info they had found

LG G3 specs detailed in Sprint UA profile, QHD display appears again

Can't find anything definitive ATM,but,I did enter SPRINT's G3 Giveaway Sweepstakes while browsing.

If by some twisted chance I win one,it's all yours.......:D

Wouldn't be the same without you EM.

Beside the fact, I have every belief we can still suck you back into this menagerie for the long haul. We have time. A SANE root + bootloader workaround is absolutely possible while we eat popcorn and contemplate the cosmos.

You never know. We may end up on the same device yet. It may be here. It may be there. But we have time in either case. :)

Btw, if you have the time/interest...irc.freenode.net | #lg-g3. Usual suspects + low activity until the Korean release at minimum I'd assume. Worth adding to the list though. That's where it'll happen...if it does.

Thanks for hanging around. Your knowledge is appreciated. Curious as to why you now have no interest in acquiring a G3. Rooting?

The LG Circle Case is totally not interesting to me. Why would I buy a large screen phone, to limit it to a mini-flip phone display by not opening a flap? I might even go caseless on this phone. That would be a first for me. It will be interesting to see if the back scratches with normal use. Worst case scenario, when I want to sell it, I just order a new back.

Haha, welcome back EM!

For me case-less isn't about possibly getting scratches, but rather getting dropped. I dropped my first DNA in a parking lot and cracked the screen. I lucked out, had an upgrade available, and a free DNA promotion, so I got a replacement for free, (since I didn't have insurance). But that cured me from going case-less. Plus it's way easier to grip a large phone with one hand when it has a nice grippy case on it.

I guess some ppl find it convenient and elegant.

I'm thinking the same thing.

Unlimited Guarantee plans

Oh ok. Thanks! I guess I have to choose between these two.

Ugh!! I sure hope Sprint offers the 32/3. If it's only the 16/2, this phone will automatically be a no go for me.
