I went from a Samsung Vibrant to an HTC Evo 4G. Yes, it was a bigger phone but I got used to it rather quickly and wouldn't give up my Evo for anything now.

and while I got used to the size
So you did indeed get used to it. Point proven.
Do we lose sight of the fact of the fact it's a big phone? Of course not. For some of us it's a selling point. But has it ever been an encumbrance? That extra ounce of weight or fraction of a square inch requiring Herculean effort to lug around? I would venture to say no.
But hey, all this speculation is just that. When the phone's out, check it out. In that respect, this is no different than any other phone that has ever been released. If you like small form factor phones, then get a small form factor phone. My point of all this is, I just don't see the Galaxy Nexus as being dramatically larger than anything else out there. If for example someone is in my shoes of owning and enjoying a Droid X.. I see this as no different.
When the larger screen phones started coming out, I kept looking at my Droid and thinking 4" is big enough. But then I started playing with them more and more and really loved the bigger screen. Also, like someone else posted, my phone is more of a data and multimedia consumption device than a phone, so the extra bulk is worth it for the screen real estate. The GNex will be my first official big screen phone and I'm sure despite the size I'll appreciate the screen and just get used to the size.
Maybe this is what you're looking for.

love the lil' buggers, but i can't support a company that doesn't stand behind it's products.I'll probably still get the phone anyway, but I am quite bothered by the size. I did get used to my Droid X, but I would have preferred to stay at that size or smaller. Most reviewers seem to be using two hands, which would be awfully inconvenient for me.
Don't forget about the Samsung Galaxy Note at 5.3-inches.![]()

i actually have two of these phones. one black hp veer and one white.love the lil' buggers, but i can't support a company that doesn't stand behind it's products.
in any event, it'll be quite the change going to something extremely small to this behemoth, but i'm looking forward to a new toy (i know... that's what she said).
If you want to get the best hands on for this phone just go to AT&T and hold the Samsung Infuse the OVERALL length of the Gnex is longer than that. This phone is way bigger than the SGS2. My brother in-law has the infuse and it dwarfs my phone....for me its way to big...a cool device to just have....yes, a daily driver.....I don't think so, my brother in-law is huge and it looks like he's talking to the bottom of a laptop.
The infuse is also wider than the nexus which with the nexus being taller but skinnier it won't feel as large.
Yeah but is that a good thing? The one thing I like about the Infuse is the balance..... it LOOKS cool. Its has a nice kind of "TV" look to it. I know its as minor as the Captivate vs. The Vibrant, but the more Iook at this phone the more my gut just says goofy. My other brother in-law wanted this phone real bad but even he is second guessing himself after seeing how long this phone is.

That is the note not the nexus.
no shit. i posted it for comparison and illustrative purposes. if the Note can easily be pocketable - so can the Galaxy Nexus.
