Metro PCS Zmax Pro Software Update Z981v1.0.0B12?

I tested video call. The only one that is bad is the video quality of the person I am calling. Predictive text in messenger I think is gone in everyone. I actually like that they have the audio recorder. I prefer that than typing. Using allo for now though.

I also noticed on APN setting. There is a tmus option but you can't tick it, WTF. Obviously coz it's for tmobile but why put it there, LOL.

Have yet to try the screen flicker. I am gonna try that VR game that keep lagging on me though. That flickers too so if it fix that game's lag and flicker, then wow, I will be amazed.

Now just waiting for android N update.

Zero disconnects - not worried anymore... although tradeoff has been high ping + lower top speeds.
I think that one disconnect reported was just unrelated / coincidental.

Yeah I'm definitely happy with this phone now. Almost 24 hours and I've had solid, super fast LTE with no breaks. I think our Internet performance is varied because you're on MetroPCS. But I'm glad we got the fix we were waiting for :)

I did notice that my phone uses a bit more battery than before the update. Oh well. If reduced battery life is the only sacrifice, that's just fine with me.

Yes, a bit more Battery AND slower charging.

Can you open it up to see what the APN type is? If it's the same as on mine, that's the APN for MMS messages.

I actually think T-Mobile's default APNs might be a little messed up. Right now my MetroPCS ZMP is unlocked and using my t-mobile SIM. I've had the same T-Mobile plan and number for years, and across all the different phones I've issued, I've always had problems sending and receiving photos via texts. Just now I made a new APN that includes the APN types from the fast.t-mobile.com *and* tmus APNs, and using that, for the first time ever I have no problems sending and receiving photos through texts.

Yes, that tmus has been there, among others, from day 1.
And also yes, only contains Tmo mms.

My Phone app force closes immediately, but I think a Hangouts install caused this?
During its Dialer install I selected ask every time instead of making it default.
I successfully replaced with Truephone(highly recommend-the only thing I lost was Vibrate When Call Answered - which requires root) , after trying Ready Phone, which also FC's upon starting.
Yeah, I tried everything obvious n esoteric...

The tmus only showed up on my APN after the update though.

Yap APN type is MMS, that's it.
That is So strange...

On an unrelated note - Metro... just had first disconnect since the software update.
This by itself is almost inconsequential, except that it was a hard disconnect only resolved with a reboot...for the first time ever.

They wouldn't have pulled the update, would they?

Maybe they did coz some people that had no problems on their phone now have the problems that most people are biatching about - screen flickers. Which is odd coz the update did fix my screen flickers as far as I know.

I checked my metro zmax pro for system updates. Says I am up to date on the 08 version. What gives lol

That's just weird. But you did not even got a message that you have an update though? All those weeks?!! The only reason I know is coz I got a notify message on my phone. That actually shocked me coz we have been waiting for it for so long.

Also I kinda think my thanksgiving twitter rant help us get it soon. Like I feel like 4 days later, we got the update.

So now I am kinda planning on twitter ranting on Christmas day for Android N update. Maybe 4 days later I will have my long awaited nougat on my phone. :D
