Hmm.... You'd think that an unmodified update file would pass a signature check.
If trying a push through recovery didn't work, I don't know what else would work. These stupid phones are all programmed differently which is a pain in the ass. I know when flashing SD updates on Allwinner-based devices you have to have the file sitting in a special folder and do a weird button combination for it to apply. ZTE sucks.

I wonder if I can sell my Zmax with B12 on eBay for like a thousand dollars now lol.... B08 was loaded with bugs, so why pull B12 update for just bugs? That's stupid. Just release another update. Maybe they found a flaw that allows a root exploit, that would be nice yes?

I wanted to update because of the timeout issue I'm having. Was hoping that it would fix it.

The only reason I bought another Zmax Pro was because the update fixed my first Pro (internet disconnects). Everything seems fine with this one, just the damn screen timeout.
Oh, the connection timeout that lasts until you reset the radio with airplane mode? Even though it shows you have good signal and LTE?
---nevermind, I didn't see your last post. Screen timeout, couldn't tell you. That was the only thing that wasn't giving me problems with B08

I think I know what you're talking about, I was having the same issue when I first got mine. If I recall correcrly, the automatic lock option in your security settings affects your options for screen timeout, try setting that to immediately (it's what I have mine on) and then go check your screen timeout to see if more options are available

I already tried that. Thanks. Not matter what I do it times out in about 6 seconds . Haha, that's not even an option. I have even tried different screen time apps but it seems to be stuck.

I think someone on the Google+ community got it to work by renaming it to update.zip, placing it in the root of the external SD card and flashing from recovery

You said you tried zipping it though right? Don't do that, just take the file and rename it
Edit: just change the .up to .zip, don't change anything else
