I'm not responsible if you mess up your device this method worked for me use at your own risk

To get back to 10i use this:
http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?p=6537086

DO NOT INSTALL CWM, OTA UPDATE WILL NOT INSTALL

:

3. Install and run Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper from Play Store. Make a backup using app .
4. Install OTA update (it might take forever for it to popup).
5. Run OTA Rootkeeper and restore su backup. Reboot

thanks to hubsabubs and duper1 from the f3 side for providing us with the method and kdz for getting back to 10i and nirhazine for finding the most stable root process

Thnx i guess i would hav to update my phone to find out. !! Tethering is working? Cus for me thats the most important. N SDFuse.

Steps 3 & 4 seem unecessary. Or at least moved to last steps, after running kingo root & rebooting, if 'supersu' still doesn't exist.

So after like 3 hours of trying to root, it finally worked for me...

What worked for me was to remove supersu and framaroot which were installed from all my previous attempts. Then I rebooted my phone and with ptp enabled I used kingo and nothing else and it worked.

Kingo rooted and installed supersu on my phone successfully by itself. So you can skip all other steps in the guide and go straight for kingo.

Warning if you're on 12b rooted make sure to not brick because you might not be able to root 12b again.

And as always, LG can kiss my arse! :p:smokingsomb:

If you softhbrick you would hav2 downgrade to (10.i) factory reset and start the. Whole process again from scratch . . That happened to me. Then i flash backup (apps) by nandroid. If u hav made one...Any other backups would not work

I know that.

I'm saying you might not get lucky again to root 12b. The new root method is a hit or miss for some people.

ive tried to get this to work and cant keeps saying root failed ive read the inst.. and and followed game theory neither are working for me
I've tried every way on here that Ppl have replied with the only thing I haven't done is a factory reset don't want to unless it's absolutely necessary if any one is willing to help pm plz

Don't give up. Just wait until you have a few hours to spare in your day and try it then. It took me about 3 hours to get it to work. I almost gave up too.

Neat, I finally got mine rooted!

Exactly what worked for me,
1. Took out SD card, SIM card
2. Held volume down and power to factory reset
3. Ran Kingo twice on Camera mode, once on LG software mode, and once on Charging mode
4. Downloaded and installed Framaroot 1.9.1 and ran Gandalf
5. Finally ran Kingo again with the phone on Camera mode

It's kind of a variation of everything that was said, applied in random orders!

For those that have been having trouble. .. here is the leak. ... U have to do a Factory Reset before upgrading.
Then u root. And if u have done an apps and data backup then flash it. The only backups that wrks are the ones by a nandroid or with our stock backup app.

I just factory reset, ran the framaroot app with gandalf, and then ran kingoroot (camera mode). easy peasy.

Here is a short cut for people who can't get it. Just flash this system dump (untouched) from CWM from any other version, and you should be on a rooted 12B.

@@@@-Angablade.... Thank you very much in behalf of everyone here for making it easier for us.:D

Yeah... the unbrick guide won't let me put the E or I firmware back on, and I can't get the new root to work.

~Edit~

The Motion unbrick method is working, now to install root, recovery, and flash the wonderful file Anga uploaded.

Just a heads up. ;)

You need to include a few of the other partitions to make it a full update zip to 12b. LG tends to update some of their other partitions as well like for example the modem. Kernel changed also. I didn't count, but there's like 6-8 other partitions that are relevant to the new update.
