Root [MetroPCS] [ROM][4.4.4]CARBON ROM Kitkat 4.4.4 for LG Optimus F6 [LOTS OF FIXES]

Last time I flashed either it wasnt ROM update or I was suppose to wipe till point of having to allow SU rights again inside TWRP after wipe, And superuser not SU was on ROM. so thais is biggest reason Im asking, besides partioning and if its a must or not. Thanks to anybody with correct instructions. They were given to me already but Im still unsure about SU and or partitioning.

Slightly stuck on the sd hack, do I have to ,partition sd card for KK SD hack to take/work properly? And if so I dont own a pc or laptop so could I use aparted to partion because of this? Thanks in advance.

Is partitioning my SD card a must for Carbon ROM? & for it to work properly with KK SD fix, or to run proper period?
Reboot into recovery, Wipe everything you can on internal memory, allow SU rights to take again from inside TWRP, flash carbonROM & proper gapps togearher or just rom first? Kk fix flashed with rom or after? set apps and settings up, reboot, wipe cache & delvic cache, flash I believe its called supercharge-charged kernel and good to. Or is partitioning of SD a must for ROM to run proper? Im kinda stuck not knowing if partitioning sd is a must or not.

I'm trying to figure out why you need 5 times more help than anyone who has ever owned an f6. The only logical conclusion is that you don't read.

Pay attention because I'm not going to repeat myself.
1 Partition your SD card. Make 1st partition fat32 & 2nd partition ext4.
2 Download Carbon ROM, gapps for 4.4.x, supercharged kernel, and SD hack, and SuperSU zip.
3 Reboot into TWRP and wipe cache, dalvik-cache, system, and data. You do not need to wipe internal storage, SD card, or sd-ext.
4 Flash Carbon ROM, gapps, supercharged kernel, and SuperSU zip in that specific order.
5 Reboot system and do your setup. If you want to install Xposed then go ahead and do that too.
6 Reboot into TWRP and flash the SD hack. Flash the data on SD copy first then flash the data on SD install.
7 Reboot system again.
All done.

You said you wouldn't repeat yourself, but if I read 2x that is kinda repeating yourself. Lmao I'm just kidding. Thanks for the instructions and dedication to the community.

I just use aparted to portion I dnt own a pc . n o ya I'm rooted or I wouldn't be running a custom ROM and kernel sir.

But ya so ur saying there's a carbon ROM version that I can install supersu on? Il send a screen shot of my situation here. And I'm sorry if I'm totally wrong bro but I'm pretty sure this ROM is stuck with superuser I've tried installing supersu no PC im not convinced I can make the super user superSU switch but I'm not done researching

See the superuser pound sign in setting there?
A couple things to ask 1: How did you get aparted working? It always hangs on me with the F6. 2: How do you get away with all the double, triple, quadruple, or more posts? 2nd question pun was intended.

It used to work but apparently somewhere along the way they updated it and it stopped working with jb. If your phone is the only way you can partition your card then try flashing hroark13's kitkat port. Aparted will probably work on that ROM.

I've tried on this ROM which if the KK port would work about the same as carbon. Kit Kat if you get past it hanging up on initial setup, then you still have issues because of having to unmount before partitioning which is bugged on the kit kat bug of mounting and unmounting. So, the truth, how did you get aparted to work?

Aparted not working for me either on jb. I noticed while I was on Carbon ROM last time that aparted installed and downloaded fine, I didn't happen to partition SD at that time, I should have. I'm trying to flash carbon ROM now to be on KK to run aparted real quick partition SD then start fresh with Carbon ROM with SD partitioned. Not having much luck getting Carbon ROM to flash, nothing is mounting because my wipe keeps saying failed. So once I can get a clean wipe with success, I'm sure ROM while take like it use to. once I get a clean wipe. I will let you know how partitioning went for me when I get KK Carbon ROM up and running to do so Flablitz.

I just got aparted running, now fixing to follow master chiefs instructions on sdhack.

And I'm not getting away with it, believe me they put me in place when needed. But ya I don't "post hound" anymore I just read, read, read and maybe ask a question ONLY if its a damn good one from now on.

You have to be able to unmount the SD card without formatting it. Hroark13's KitKat port is the only KitKat ROM for the f6 that has this option.

I don't really follow, I know you know but I guess I don't understand what you mean by "unmount" not sure what unmounting has to do with partitioning. For a type of "workaround" if you will I am going to use a friends kk device to download aparted with my SD in they're phone and partition it. Should work fine then I'm partitioned.

I was able to flash Carbon ROM yesrerday. I got phone to wipe clean with success but Carbon ROM won't mount at this time. I copyed everything from the links I was given, not sure why ROM won't take now but I'll get er.

So I can just flash the NN zip like anything else or is there any extra setting I need to setup? I'm not having alot of luck finding info about how the NN zip is used and works, sorry if I missed anything here.

What's that zip? Idk Masterchief but I'm glad I caught you. Can you please refer me to a thread on how to use init.d scripts I'm sorry for the intrusion I had seen the message and am in the dark here as to weather I need an app or anything wich allows me to run scripts?

You need to pay attention to what you're doing because it is apparent that you just downloaded the file from the linked post without bothering to read the post's instructions on how to use the file. The instructions are in the same post that you got the file from.

The link I gave you for NN partition zip contains the instructions as well as the file for download. Partitioning your SD using the NN partition zip is all done using TWRP. SD card default is a max capacity FAT32 partition. To use the zip you just rename the NN to the number of GB you want your ext4 partition to have.
http://androidforums.com/threads/me...-f6-lots-of-fixes.880135/page-50#post-7009463

-partition-NN.zip
Shrinks the fat32 partition of the SD card and creates an ext4 partition in the freed-up space. To use this, rename the zip by replacing "NN" with a positive integer, where the number represents the desired boundary in GiB. Basically, the zip takes space from the fat32 partition to make the ext4 partition. Note that the boundary you specify needs to be within the original fat32 partition.

If you successfully create the ext4 partition with this zip but change your mind about the sizes you want, you can rename this zip to DataOnSD-partition-delete.zip and install it. Doing this will destroy the ext4 partition and put that space back into the fat32 partition.
  • If the card is not partitioned as one big fat32 partition, you can use Android's built-in erase SD function to do so before entering recovery. Or use a PC.

Partitioning the external SD is only required for the SD hack to work. It should be obvious that ROMS are designed to run on the base phone hardware. Your phone should run without having to first install an external SD card.

Sweet, Wipe went perfect all Gapps have updated properly, networks setup, SuperSU! not Superuser, and ya thanks for all the directions and links MaxGrit! Heading on to the link again to read up on changing NN to around 7G as I have a 16 G Sandisk so all should go well if I follow directions, thanks again man, Off to set this bad boy up! BIG SHOUT OUTS TO HROARK & DM hope I spelled names OK if not I definetly mean no disrespect. Awesome ROM guys, real nice, love it.

Where can you look to get an idea of you're, internal external memory situation after the SD patitition & NN zip is all set? and do I just leave the NN Zip I renamed on the SD?
