Root [MetroPCS] [ROM][F6] Xperion ROM **Updated 2/11/2015**

I have noticed one bug, when I try to access CWM Recovery from the Settings option, I get a message saying "Unfortunately Settings has stopped" and it force closes. I've deleted F6Utilities to see if that was somehow causing a conflict, but it made no difference. Not a huge issue, I can still access it through F6Utilities if I want to, but I thought I'd point it out.

Only way that would happen is if you removed Xrecovery.

Dont know if anyone else is having this issue thought I would throw it out there....hitting cwm recovery in settings takes me to xrecovery screen i hit apply and reboot but it just restarts. My first fix was reflash..worked at first but stopped..i fixed it temp by installing xrecovery from sdcard (dl'd from gt's site) but i have to reinstall/replace every time to actually get into cwm. I haven't tried pressy's cwm on xperion rom yet I'm planning on using that now until/if i can find fix to xrecovery issue just wondering if anyone else has this issue. I also flashed freedom oc kernel and performance x script but i tested it w/o too thanks in advance for any feedback

Any 2nd-init recovery like xrecovery has trouble working with loki'd kernels. I included it cause it can still be useful in combination with the other recovery for unbricking when working on new projects (using button combo). Just use the other recovery I linked in the first post.

I just realized a "gotcha" of this process: "Partitioning External SD Card". If you are like me, you need to backup your External SD before being able to partition it. [On my External SD] I have a backup of my "original stock ROM" [whatever], as well as apps that are installed on it, etc. If I just copy all of this to another drive, then partition it, and then copy all of it back to the FAT32 partition, will everything "work"?

In addition to my last post, is it worth while purchasing Link2SDPlus? [in order to be able to link data?]

Yes

I'm not sure. For any link2sd questions use this thread. Post #8 in that thread can come in handy.

Go to phone's settings then click on "about phone" then "software information" then look at "software version".

You should see MS50010i or MS50012b. The one ending in 12b is the latest and the one you need to be on to install this rom.

Go to this next thread to upgrade to 12b...

@gametheory so i did a factory reset on your rom and the home button stopped working and if you have link2sd setup it breaks it so you cant mount your sdcard lol now i know you probably cant fix the link2sd problem cuz that's understandable but anyway you can fix the home button problem I've factory reset on the admire, premia, and the ascend and haven't had that issue so idk if its something that those devs did or if your just missing something within the rom that breaks that just a heads up

This has been covered in the forum a few times. You cannot factory reset any "debloated" roms even if it's stock. Both the F6 and F3 have a system check that doesn't allow that after debloating. You'll have to restore a backup.

One thing I have noticed, if you hit apply and then reboot, it will just reboot. If you just hit reboot, it will boot into recovery. Odd, but that's how it works for me.

Also, be warned, it will look different than the f6Utilities recovery. It has a larger font, it is formatted differently and you may have to scroll down for all the options to appear, especially in the backup/restore page.

It's because Xrecovery is touch, so it needs to be larger so that you can select your options with your fingers.

[Got the Link2SD issue fixed; now this]
Two behaviours I have noticed recently [not necessarily related]:

1. A reboot [unrequested] w/o some kind of warning.
2. Can't get past boot animation "Xperion" w/o pulling battery.
[Intermittent, not constant]

I have installed the Xposed Framework [for Greenify, for example]. They may be other stuff - red flags - not sure.

Is this something I can troubleshoot? Or, does this require flashing ROM, etc.?

Xposed can cause that issue on any phone depending on what you do with it. I recommend not experimenting with your phone so much because your just gonna introduce issues you wouldn't otherwise have. At least till you gain more knowledge modifying your phone and troubleshooting it.

If you made a backup then restore it, if not reinstall the rom and just use your phone normally.

You have "Game" in your monicker. It's clear you like to play. I do too. As long as you can find your way back... [Or, start over from scratch! :D]
