Root [MetroPCS] [ROM][F6] Xperion ROM **Updated 2/11/2015**

I know you directed me to install the CWM 6.0.4.6 recovery from other thread but then on your site you recommend to install your XRecovery. Which is newer/better? To install 6.0.4.6 would I just install the F6Utilities2 app and then install recovery?

edit: Well this is a first. After flashing this ROM, I'm unable to access XRecovery. I've tried reapplying it, but no go. I've never heard of flashing a ROM overriding a recovery.

I have both recoveries installed on my phone. Just pick which one you prefer and install that one or both. Yes, go to recovery thread and install F6Utilities app from the first post in that thread to install the recovery.

Well after rooting 12b and installing XRecovery (CWM 6.0.3.6 or so). I made the backups in XRecovery (of the stock rom). Now that I'm on Xperion, I can flash the CWM from F6Utilities (CWM 6.0.4.6), but I'm worried if I wanted to restore stock ROM, it may fail due to version incompatibility. Also, I'm unable to flash XRecovery even after successfully applying 6.0.4.6.

Xrecovery and lte 2nd-init recoveries are not true recoveries. They work from the /system/xbin directory and are not flashed to their own partition like a true recovery. These recoveries have trouble working with custom kernels, but can still come in handy.

You cannot install xrecovery because it's already integrated into this rom and you wont see an icon for it, you access it from the settings menu.

Yes, the backups are compatible. As I said, I have both recoveries installed and the backups are cross compatible.

I haven't installed any custom kernels yet (unless your ROM comes with one). The settings menu is the only place I've been trying to boot it. Anyway, if you say they're compatible then it's okay. Thanks for the work, again.
 
I made a back up of my apps and data from 10i using Go Backup could i restore it or is that a no go with your rom
 
Thank you GT for another smooth/stable rom. Been running this for just a day and its all around great,the only issue I've noticed is that the cm clock didn't let me set an alarm it just closes.and for some reason i can't seem to install the stock alarm clock by moving it to /system/app. Thanks again
 
im the crazy mofo thatll be checking if it works on sdhacks,if your on sdhacks you flash this at your own risk until its figured out if it can be done.
and since i know how to fix phones that get issues its much safer trust me <3

upon first inspection it appears as a no,however im wondering if it was a corrupted flash because i already had it as its not doing a full factory restore on this rom eitheir.going to start with a fresh wipe and see if itll allow an apply after the rom,bear with me as this will take awhile to refresh
 
I can't seem to freaking de-odex a rom for this phone to save my freaking life, and I don't know why...

perhaps you just need to smack the phone a few times like a good bdsm woman to get it to cooperate right

De-odexing is useless to the end user and makes the rom slower. The only advantage to de-odexing is for the developer to be able to easily modify an apk. A zipalingned rom with its odex files can be much faster and smoother than a de-odexed rom. It's always been this way.

When using "Find in page" in Metroweb. The search text is black with dark background, therefore illegible. The other was the clock app bug.

I probably won't waste time on MetroWeb browser since it's more of a bloatware app and people use a variety of browsers (I use chrome).

I just fixed the cyanogen alarmclock (newer version) and will upload the fix shortly.
 
Update

Fixed issue not being able to set an alarm in cyanogen alarm clock (Updated to newer version).

Instructions:
  1. Simply repeat step number "7" only of the installation instructions and you're all set.

I ask the following because someone I trusted once told me that Google Chrome on Android "corrupted" downloads? T/F?

Anyway, I used Chrome to download the ROM. It ended up on my internal storage because I could not figure out how to configure Chrome to give me a choice where to download [in Windows this is very simple]. So, I ended up "Cutting and Pasting" to get the ROM on my External SD. Am I safe here? No corruption?

Don't overcomplicate things so much. If you don't trust chrome than use another browser or use your pc to download the rom.
