Root MikG v3.0 Final Release

Mik will usually release patches for updated releases, but if enough changes, he might not and a full wipe may be required. Plus it's hard to say when an updated release will occur in addition to the fact that MikG is constantly being updated and we are probably a ways off from it being a "final" build.

And as far as I know, battery stats are rom independent.

Has anyone received an update for voicemail on MikG 3.0? I've restored to other roms but none of them get it but for some reason it only happens with 3.0 not 2.6 or an aosp.

Yeah, Mik updated vvm for Beta2:

Just for a quick change log info to see the diff in apps from 2.61 and such:
Updated sprint vvm (just got the update today)
Updated maxthon
Updated market apps (maps, etc.)
Maybe fixed 720p.... maybe... play around with sdcard read speeds

From what I've read, aamikam doesn't like flash over tactics. He's a complete wipe and install kinda guy. Also this build is a beta, 9 times outta 10, beta to RC requires a full wipe because of major changes.
We'll just have to wait and see what aamikam suggests with his new release. ;)

If you go to settings under vvm at the bottom is a check for update option. I used that to update my vvm to the one included in 3.00 earlier today.

i've gotta say, the battery bar tweak is pretty cool... first time i've seen something like this... just using that without icon and text looks sweet... IMHO...

Downloaded this today, did a double superwipe... now I'm just sitting at the mikrom screen. BTW, this is my first sense roms in months (I did try a mik rom beta a few months ago, but kept it for a day or two tops). It's been like six or so months of CM. Whenever 7.1.0RC1 was released. :)

Booted up... :D

First boot took a long time for me too. Thought I was bootlooping til I paid attention to it and never saw it start over again. Next ones should be shorter than usual and there is an option to disable boot animation that makes it quicker.

Ahh cool

Mine actually didn't take as long as I was thinking it would - what ever mik rom I flashed this summer took like 5-10 mintues to boot. This one I was stared and booted in like 7 minutes (including the flash). And I wasn't watching the clock too closely.

My battery was a bit low, so I powered off and put on charger, but it seemed pretty smooth so far. I am still a bit of a noob to these newer sense roms... so I have a bit of a learning curve. Took forever to remember where 'haptic feedback' was...

What kernel is everyone using with this rom? I'm on the stock kernel for now, but hope to try out a new sense kernel (now that I'm finally back on sense).

I'll also need to remember to restore some apps and my messages/get contacts synced. Ahh... I love flashing a new rom :D :D :) Can't believe I kept cm7 for so long...

i have been using the stock kernel with supercharger and love it... this final release is definitely the best so far...(IMHO) i really haven't had much luck with any of the new kernels... i've had small issues with each one, nothing major but enough for me to keep the stock one... no issues with battery usage and smooth and responsive...

How many are using the V6 Supercharger script with this ROM? Do you notice it making a difference? I installed this ROM without any scripts and it is fast and responsive. Just wondering if the supercharger scripts makes it any better?

i use supercharger with this and it definitely makes a difference... for the good... i'm running the stock kernel and it's smooth and responsive...

I'm noticing a bit of lag, but it's mostly with one app (wanna say it was es file explorer), but I'm not at all familiar with that app, and that easily could just be the transitions/effects used by that app. The rest seems really nice. Really enjoying it. Put GoLauncher on it (hate the 'vibrate when moving widgets' thing that sense loves... :/ ). Really nice.

Got all my apps on it, hell I think I had something close to 400MB of free space after installing my first couple of apps (I could be wrong, that was yesterday, and I wasn't paying attention to it..).

Hmm..
Installed several apps (maybe ten or so), free space is at 212 mb. So 400 probably wasn't quite accurate ;)

Also, I had the 'battery overheat' for the first time ever. I cannot in good faith place the cause of that on this rom. I was web browsing (low/zero signal) while charging. Sounds like a prime time to overheat on any rom to me... Just thought I'd put that out there.

I have had lag using ES File Explorer on many different ROM's. I think it is just the app itself.

9to5, check out the "tweaks". There are a ton of things you can change in the rom. Love this idea, most times I don't have to find a theme or mod it to my liking, you can do it on the fly! ;)

Yeah I saw that MikTweaks or something....I haven't actually tried anything yet (didn't want to reboot at the time)

Ahh how I've missed you sense.

I'll have to try the supercharger with this rom - haven't downloaded a kernel yet, so I'm still on stock. Seems like battery isn't as good (from 100% airplane mode at night to 94% in the morning, CM7 was always 100%-100%...), then I thought, SBC kernel - right. So no real issue :D

Top notch rom.
