Root MikG v3.0 Final Release

So does TB save game data or not? :p
What I didn't know though was the don't restore system data part. How do I avoid restoring system data when flashing a new rom?
*edit* I'm guessing I leave "system data" unchecked in the reboot process?

in tb when you go to restore apps make sure that you do not select system data restore. just go to user apps and then select app and data.

and system data in reboot process? not sure what you mean there. if your flashing a rom you can wipe system if you want to. and you want to select system when making a nandroid backup.

WOW This is so much faster than 2.61 for my phone Loving it. Just have to see how the battery life is. Hope there isnt something new to flash before i can give it a couple days.

Will Titanium Backup(paid) save your progress in games? Every time I flash a new rom my little boy loses all of his progress on Plants and Zombies, which is on my phone. Swore I wouldn't flash again for a while but that was before I saw Mik3.0 B.

Absolutely! Just back up the app, flash New Rom, download tb from market and restore the app and data. All saved games are there. ;)

Edit: I'm a chode, I should read the entir thread before responding
. LOL

Re: TB, I used an app called appsaver. I had it backup tb and tb pro to my sd card.

It seems like all the roms come with a filereader installed. Once i get to the point of restoring my apps, I use it to go to the appsaver folder and reinstall them. Then i use them to restore my apps! works well, and i don't have to dl them from the market. a real timesaver!

using the set preferred network type in the tweaks, the default is CDMA auto PRL.

Under what circumstances, if any, would it be wise to use a different option?

Darn, went to download this today and my flash drive didn't have enough storage for it! :( Monday, I'll get it Monday!

Been running this most of the night, works exactly like MikG with more tweaks

That's because it is MikG with the added tweaks;) I believe this is why aamikam is an awesome developer. he keeps adding new and better things to his rom. Pushing the envelope and then everyone else follows:)

True, but just sticking with the same rom is too boring for most of us. haha. But everyone is obviously different. I rooted my boss's phone and he has ran MikFroyo for the last 6 months just because he doesn't want to mess with having to wipe his phone.

Sticking to the same rom? Not a chance. This is one of the main reasons I rooted. Not only can enjoy what's coming next but also help others if a problem arises.

I am going to wait for the official version. I just started using 2.61 yesterday, and am just settling into it. Do you anticipate an official release with all tweaks sometime next week?

I would anticipate that aamikam will continue to develop this rom and my guess is that there will be many updates in the future;)

You really never know when official releases are coming.

However, I would probably wait for the official version if I were in your shoes. The newly added available tweaks are nice, but its nothing you have to have this instant.

That's why you rooted the phone, to enjoy the next best thing and the added features of a great developer. Plus, isn't that what a nandroid is for? Nandroid, flash the new rom, problems arise, restore the nandroid.;)

Thanks much. I'm going to try a kernel for the first time. Also going to partition for the first time. I blame ocnbrze for this sickness. :D

Make sure to backup your SD card to your computer before partitioning. Learn from my lesson the first time I partitioned. I lost all my data. Should have known better.

If you are just flashing, TB will keep your game data just fine. Its the partitioning portion were you could find yourself losing all your data if your not backed up.

Amen Brother!

I am getting horrible battery life with this Rom. Had 2.61 before this with the same exact settings and got great battery life. I took it off the charger last night at 87% and it was down in the 60s in just over an hour with very minimal use. And woke up this morning and it was in the 40s with no use at all.

Have you checked Spare Parts to see if you have a wake lock? Also, have you tried a different kernel?

I do not have that app installed to look. I will check it out, though and see if I see anything that is causing this.

And no, just so far, the kernel it came with. You have a recommendation on a kernel?

The majority prefer Freedom kernel. You can find sense GB kernels in the ROM's and Kernel's DL page.

To find out if you have a wake lock go to "battery" in your Evo's settings and see if your up time and awake time are similar. Spare Parts will help you diagnose which program is running hot.

Gave this a shot and my battery life was horrid, I was losing almost 1% per minute off of a 85% charge and I wasn't even doing anything...

ok, one day on chop suey was enough, i reckon, battery life wasn't too hot...

Gonna try a Freedom kernel and see if it works better for me.

I seem to be noticing this also but I woulnt call it horible just not quite as good as 2.6 BUT the rom is quite a bit faster than 2.6 so im thinking more speed less batt but im doing the calibration right now so we will se how it is tomorrow after the calibration is complete.

+1 On calibrating your battery after flashing a new ROM.
