Root MikG v3.0 Final Release

OH I remember an issue I am/was having.

I get it from time to time regardless of rom (even unrooted stock and aosp roms)...

when connected to charger, sometimes my screen is unresponsive. This seems much worse on this rom. While connected to my computer, I spent about five minutes before I could get it to work.

Again, because this issue has happened before, I don't think this rom is responsible, but it seems weird that it happened more frequently after this rom. It could be because it was plugged into an extender for the usb (male end, 8in cable, female end)... but I don't think that would be related. I should note that this afternoon, when I plugged into the computer's usb port, it worked that time. Unsure if this is related, just thought I'd share.
 
MikG 3.0 B2, been on this ROM for about 10-15 minutes. Reinstalled A2SD, just about to restore my apps, and decided to check my space prior to installing anything (besides Terminal Emulator). Have 363MB free, not used to so much space from a Sense ROM :)

Anywho, I was using MIUI, which had the built-in battery bar already and i loved it. However, i'm unable to find the tweak for this in this build. I checked the "Tweaks" in settings, and it doesn't have an option for it under "Battery Options". I checked in other places of the "Tweaks" settings, but still can't find it. Is it somewhere else or did Mik not put it in the B2 build?

I just gave my wife her 3VO today for Christmas, which made me really miss Sense (plus i need a working Skype video chat). I must say, i'm quite impressed with this ROM. V2.61 didn't run well for me, but this one is smoking somehow. The speed and smoothness, W...T...H! :)

Have you tried the final release? It has a few more tweaks than the betas. It is available under the sense 2.1+3.0 mik roms on his site. There are themes available that your wife might like also.

I believe that the battery bar was only a part of the final release.
 
I've been running this for a couple of days. Very nice. I like the custom wallpaper that is used too.

Everything works like it should and the Miktweaks are great. I loved those on the 3.5 roms and newer 1.0 roms too. I just would love a 3D carousel with 4G and the properly sized icons for an Evo. But I'll make due.

Still a great time to be using an Evo 4G! Thanks to everyone who keeps this going!!

Agreed, it's a great ROM. I'm getting anxious for an updated release. Mik is usually so fast to make updates. But honestly I'm not even sure what he could improve. Try out the Anthrax kernel if you haven't already.

I too am loving Mik3.0. I'm running Chop Suey and not sure it's working for me; you say Anthrax is working well for you?
Are you running any theme? I just flashed Blue Moon for Mik3.0 and am digging it.
 
Anyone know how to get rid of the "slow fade to dim" on the screen when its been idle for a few secs? I've got autobrightness disabled. Screen used to just dim, not fade to dim, prior to timing out.

Anthrax blows chop suey and freedom out of the water for performance. Night and day. It's built from qualcomm source rather than HTC source. That means it runs better at the same speed basically. Battery seems OK. Maybe not quite as good so far but I still need it to fully settle.

The developer for this kernel is highly regarded, someone on xda said he's so good that he makes netarchy look like a noob.
 
how do you have the anthrax kernel set up with 3.0?

and what does 'supports beat audio' mean?

is is something like dsp manager?
 
Let me try that and see how it goes. I really had no problem with the stock kernel for responsiveness, speed and battery life but wanted to try this out.

Found out about dsp manager though, enabling it and listening to music, yeah, it sounds good. But, not compatible with an underclocked screen off profile... made some strange sounds there... lol

Interesting......too bad my phone doesn't like it. Won't get past the splash screen after I flash it. Even tried the rewipe of cache and dalvik after flashing.
 
i have run the anthrax kernel the past 2 days with MikG and it's working great for me... overclocked 1190, screen off min/max 245... both performance scaling... very responsive.... good battery too, 12 hours and @ 50%...
 
Here's battery life for me with mikG 3.0 and the anthrax kernel, and this is my only first full cycle and no tweaking. Gonna tweak it a bit more now with setcpu and see what happens. Oh, and I'm also using ADW Launcher and Widgetlocker so without those I would imagine it would be even better.

I am good with my current battery life and performance. I was just going to try it out. I put mine back to the engineered bootloader for the fastboot commands. Thanks though.

I have setCPU, if I flash Anthrax does what you say here mean I need to go in to setCPU and change some settings?

I'm running the exact same thing, responsiveness is a little slow, might bump it up a tad, but my battery life is no better/worse than aggressive freedom, gonna let it run a few days;)
 
I just flashed MikG 3.0 with ROM Manager, and now I am getting a ton of Force Close messages that I can't even do anything on it. Any help?
