will do. @Airmax, couldn't get history eraser, google maps and skype
plus some other things were messed up. Just sbf'ed, and doing fresh install
I'm not blaming your bild.prop for anythingDon't get me wrong
Just last couple of days I did so many upgrades, restores, themes, un-themes
.
Just want to clean things up, and start from scratch.
And many thanks to you for sharing your tweaks
Just wanted everyone to know it wasn't because of the .prop file
Oh I know, I just wanted to clear it up for the other forum users. They see SBF in here and panic sets inJust wanted everyone to know it wasn't because of the .prop file

So if this is installed I will need to SBF?
I kid, I kid... Just dwnld' and between FlyX and this my phone is running amazing.. My X is my first android phone and between the instructions and help you guys make it so easy.. Thanks for the file..
Sure. Did you notice in rom manager this is in there? Bird has it as an option. Pretty cool.
OK. Update on my status: Performed .sbf, rooted, installed update.zip, installed FlyX, replaced build.prop with one from OP
Everything works just fine, fast and smooth.
I am loving these mods also. My only issue is with the lcd mod. Love the extra space it gives but don't love the programs that don't fit the whole screen any more. An example is root explorer. It only shows in a little more than half my screen. Is this to be expected?

So, I was curious about the Dalvik heap size mod. My phone is not very modified, it is rooted and I removed most of the crap apps like Blockbuster etc. that came with it.
I set it the heap size, and rebooted the phone. Waited 3 minutes to allow it to come to a stable state, and ran Quadrant 6 times in a row. I did not disable or modify anything to improve my scores, it is just as I carry the phone every day. I had a strong 3G connection during this time so any polling done by widgets or whatever should finish quickly and not affect a lot of the tests. These are not the be-all, end-all of tests, I am just reporting my curiosity in a somewhat controlled way.
Given the couple low values on the first round and the incredible consistency of further tests, I'd say we aren't helping our quadrant scores. From the initial comments in this thread it looks like it just gives a larger memory space for individual apps, so I think I'm going to leave it on 40m for a little while and see if I notice a difference, especially in things like the browser where I frequently open many tabs.
who said it made quadrant scores higher
Nobody. I said I was curious.
Incidentally, it seems to have some adverse issues on the phone when you set it too high. I had intermittent connection issues with it set to 40m that immediately went away when I lowered it.
32 is prob the max you want to do
