This may not be the best way, but I no longer bother restoring apps. I've saved app data for some apps in MBP, and I saved a list of all my apps with market links (thru ShareMyApps app). I just go to android market on my pc and click to install. It takes 5 min to do all the apps, and is totally reliable.

This way is foolproof and no problems at all.

Tb worked fine after I fixed busy box

Miui took a little more work than other roms but after I got it it was with it. Had to fix gps, camera, white text, etc. but she is running like a top now.

Am I just missing something, or is the front camera only working on the camera app on page 2 (by default... i'm sure it has to be the aosp one). I can't seem to find the settings for the miui one (which looks very very nice by the way).

Neither were working for me, the fix fixed both of them though. I deleted both of those camera.apks eventually.

I've been using CM7 for quite awhile, but decided to check out MIUI again. Its a bit laggy and FC's often... I'm giving this a week... maybe, but I need to know... how is everyone using this Rom... I'm not use to having my apps everywhere. I like that it's different, but I want an app drawer.. Is this possible?

Mostly, I created a folder on the homescreen named it apps, dropped all my apps in the folder and then drug it into the launcher area right smack in the middle. Works just like the app drawer...

As far as FC's are concerned are you using the 3d cube animation? It takes a little more memory. But in general you may want to consider increasing you vm heap to something greater than 32 but less than 48...free app, vm heap...

I have all my apps on my screen as usual like with htc sense or launcher pro.

The applications I don't use all that often, I just add an extra screen and put them either to the far left or far right of the screens

I'll give this a try... I also think this killed my GPS fix for CM7... as I didn't like the lag and didn't know what to do with all the app / icons everywhere I decided to go back to CM7... I downloaded the current stable version and boom no more GPS.. found that today as I was trying to use gas buddy... no GPS found. Going to try MIUI again as I love the music player and could use a typical android style break... Thanks for the help.. Going to flash a sence rom to attempt the gingerbread GPS issue / fix now:


1. Download MSL from the android market
2. Get your MSL # (write it down somewhere)
3. Launch phone dialer and dial ##4772579#
4. Enter MSL #
5. Your phone will reboot
6. After reboot, get a solid GPS lock with Google Maps. If not, download GPS Status from the android market and get a solid GPS lock
7. Flash CM7, MIUI or any GB rom or nandroid restore back to your GB rom
8. GPS fixed

Just flashed Myn Z with Sence 2.0.... I'm actually digg'n it for the moment. Think I'm going to stick with this for a min.

Cool, as I said about the apps...make a folder on the homescreen, drag it into the launcher with the other 4 icons (phone, web, contacts, mssg), drag all your apps you dont want on the homescreen into that folder, it will work just like an app drawer.

I tried the latest MIUI as well but got tons of FC's. Decided to install the 1.3.18 Froyo version and this thing is running awesome !!

I easily doubled my battery life as well !

No issues with this ROM whatsoever

I flashed the latest MIUI version today and it's running pretty smooth, but the facebook contact sync issue is almost a deal breaker for me. Think i'll do a nandroid backup on it for now and see if they come up with a fix for the contact sync. Picky, i know, but i have self-updating photos associated with almost all my contacts, so anything from calls to messaging apps are affected by the bug. Otherwise, the GB MIUI ROM is pretty nice, especially once you change the theme.

Wow, sucks for me then. I've deleted all my contacts several times, uninstalled/reinstalled Facebook, cleared data/caches for both contacts and Facebook, and still can't get them to work. I thought I read that it was a known issue...

Sorry to ruin your day . It's weird though one fb app I installed doesn't give me the sync option. I deleted it and installed a diff one and it had the option (they are all just fb, I just keep a few diff ones in diff colors so I can match any rom). They needed joined one by one but it syncs them all fine.

I agree about MIUI gb. Im going to go with froyo version here. I randomly cannot mount my sd card this morning. Thank you unstable miui, shame cuz i like the rom. I didnt even do anything but put in airplane mode and go to sleep. Ran shitty this AM so i hot rebooted it, got a voivemail notification and it froze completely, then wouldnt mount sd card.

i believe that its a sense-less rom, but not AOSP(provided i remember correctly)

MIUI is a AOSP rom. The last froyo version was 1.3.18.

I having been using 1.3.5 for almost a month now and everything works great.

I was using Ziggy's kernel the whole time. Just switched to savage 1.6 today because I read that it is what most peeps were using. And am always down for improving. Ill see how it goes.
